For any science question, 90% chance the answer is lasers!

After a blistering hot summer this year, it’s now a solid 30 degrees below normal this week. It’s insane.

SLC ended up a good 8-10 degrees warmer than some nearby towns as well. The whiplash between one extreme and another is getting a little old, but it seems like it’s becoming the new normal.

We’re having one of the nastiest Halloweens I can remember. It’s reaching a high in the 30s today and the wind was fierce this morning. The wind chill must have been 20 degrees. Kids are going to be cold tonight. I expect to see the little ones with their costumes covered by coats.

It took me 60 minutes to get to work this morning instead of the usual 25 minutes. Lots of ice still on the roads from the snow yesterday.

Meanwhile in eastern PA , its like 74 outside and rainy / humid. On the last day of October.

I know, down here in central NC I had to decide whether to put on shorts today…

It’s a bit chilly outside, I agree.

I got back from vacation yesterday. I live in St. Louis but we visited St. Johns, Newfoundland. It was warmer in St. Johns than St. Louis. St. Johns has yet to see their first snow this season but they average over 120 inches in winter. We already have snow on the ground in St. Louis. This artic blast is crazy.

I have my thermostat set to 76 F but it’s still 74 F in the house! AHHHHHHHHH!

What company do you get your energy from? I want to go buy some of their stock!

That’s shorts weather, lol.

This year we are trying 70F in the day, 66F at night as of late. Fossil fuels aren’t cheap.

Unlike the last few days, it was a balmy 33 degrees this morning and the sun was out, so I decided not to wear my winter hat today. It felt great! I do like winter a lot when it doesn’t get below freezing. Hopefully it will stay this way for a while.

The word for this is “Fall”, FYI.

I prefer Autumn.

You know my daughter in law?

Well, I have well over a foot of snow this morning–looks like about 15 inches. And it is snowing and is predicted to keep snowing throughout the day and into the night. Made getting to my heart procedure this morning great fun, but I’m sitting in the hospital now, so I made it.

Glad you made it!

Hope this also went just as well :)

Yeah, I sort of missed that first read. Hope you’re doing okay @BennyProfane
