umm you can still see the road surface. :)

Well yeah, now. :-P
Not when I left this morning. It was solid white here. I had trouble pulling out because the snow under my car remained nice and cold while the stuff around the cars flattened out some.
It is so rare for us to get snow on the valley floor that sticks.
The weather guy is saying 4-8 inches for us Saturday afternoon/evening.
That’s a pretty normal snow for upstate New York, I guess.
That looks as severe a disaster as the fires in Australia.

Haha, very fun.
When I was ice skating to my office, I did not reach for my phone to take a picture this morning. I did this when I came home. Keep in mind though, we don’t normally get snow on the valley floor, at all. If you want snow, you go up.

Here’s a prettier picture from someone who has property higher up and a lovely backyard, an old co-worker of mine.

Yeah we get this now and then. When the temp drops enough so do the lizards.
My pool pump is dying, and therefore it’s making a really loud noise when it’s on. We bought a new pool pump but are waiting until tomorrow for the install.
The problem is the pool pump is right next to our bedroom. That’s normally not an issue since the pump is only running from 10am - 3pm. However, since the temperature dropped to 40 or so last night it came on in the middle of the night for freeze protection waking us up. I had to run out in boxers to turn it off so I could go back to sleep.
Need to figure out how to disable that for tonight since it’ll be 35 degrees and probably will kick on again.

February 3rd and we finally got snow. As I said above, we’ve had snow but it’s just been too warm to stick. Tons of precipitation this winter, it’s just mostly been in the form of January rains day and night along with some snow that maybe leaves an inch on the grass before melting away by the end of the day. We had multiple 50+ degree days in January. It’s really unusual given that we’re 4,200+ feet above sea level here, but in my 42 years it’s just a continuation of a trend. I used to go sledding on Thanksgiving and not having snow on Christmas was unthinkable. Lately it’s Christmas that we finally get snow, and this year it’s February before I actually got use out of the new tires I bought this winter for that purpose.
Sorry, just rambling about a dumb snow storm. No hurricane force winds or anything like that, just a winter storm dumping snow like I should have been seeing for at least a couple months now. I probably should have posted this in the climate change thread.
It’s gonna be in the 70s this week in Raleigh. I’m wearing short sleeves to work, lol.
Wet and rainy here in eastern NY, but way too warm most of the winter. We are actually above normal for snow, but it was all from a single snow storm back in December, since then basically nothing but dustings that melt quickly, or just rain.
Warm here in DC but I got no complaints about the heat this time of year.
Stupidly warm all winter here in South Central PA. I’ve been wanting to ski but every available weekend was either raining or really warm.
In Munich tonight, and instead of snow (as usual this time of year), it’s 45F and raining. I hate cold rain.
I enjoyed them a lot, but my wife didn’t enjoy them enough that she ever wanted to make it again when I asked her (and she refuses to let me make anything on my own because the kitchen is her domain). But I asked her if she could order beets in this week’s grocery delivery from Walmart and she said yes! Woohoo! I’m going to have Bombay Sandwiches for a second time!
Edit: Also, it’s kind of nice we haven’t had to post anything in the Weather thread for 3 months, huh? I guess the weather has been mostly behaving itself where we all live. Inside our houses, at least.
Congrats!! I haven;t had one in ages, though I’ve been making a ton of Indian food this week. Keep yer eyes on the Cooking thread. . . :-D
God, yeah. It is weird to remember that weather just, like, keeps on happening all day out there. I’m outside for like 5 minutes once a week. Blinds are drawn shut cuz gf has a major sun thing, so I basically never see the outdoors now.
I live in the Greater Toronto Area. What is going on? We had some light snow flurries yesterday and heavier flurries today.

And in Maine. I’m down on the southeast coast (near Portland) so while it was snowing pretty hard when I got up, it was just warm enough and wet enough that none of it stuck to the ground here. But my parents, about an hour and a half drive inland northwest-ish of us got about three inches.
I commented to a friend about the May snow, and isn’t summer starting next month, and her reply was, “Yeah, but… 2020.”

Meanwhile the other Portland is 86° today.
