@RichVR heads up, last night it was going for tallahassee, today woke up to see it coming just north of us
Shouldn’t be too strong at least but the 2020 gods didn’t want to leave us out
Go home, Eta, you’re drunk.
Hope it fizzles and everyone stays fine. Even in Florida.
I was hoping it would hit Sanibel Island, since Pence was supposed to go vacation there. But it looks to be tracking north now.

Yeah we’ve been keeping a close eye on it. Fingers crossed.
Stare too long into the hurricane and the hurricane will stare into you. Or something.
The farther out bands already landed here in Tampa, it’s just like a really long afternoon rain if you’re not living on the coast.

Same here right now. Looks like 7PM and onward for the worst of it. I don’t like big storms at night. Can’t see tornadoes coming.

Icy highways just north of the Twin Cities metro area.

half of them were semis.
Yikes. But they’re saying minor injuries.

Dodged a bullet here. I slept through the worst of it. How about you, @arrendek?

I’ve seen those types of crashes before. No fucking way.
I’d be surprised if the death toll is less than 5.

Yeah it wasn’t so bad. Couldn’t sleep most of the night because of my activated “danger sense”, lol

I know, it’s just when I see that I have… flashbacks. The fact there are multiple vehicles on fire? That there are vehicles that get smashed like an aluminum can between two semis? I find the prospect of no serious injuries or deaths exceptionally unlikely.
Believe me, I want to be wrong. I just am skeptical of that news report, it’s too soon to say for sure.

Yeah when one semi is involved it’s bad enough. When half of an almost 30 car pile up is them it’s… but I don’t know why they would report people going to minor injuries and not mention any deaths at all if we did lose people in that.
In Europe there probably would have been deaths due to the higher speeds there. (Highway speed limits are often 140kmh.) The actual pileups would likely be bigger too.
Doubt they’d be going 140kmh in snow and ice.
Yeah, I guess that’s more likely with fog or sudden change in climate.

Wow I just did the google. 140kmh is like 86mph. Who drives that fast at all? Much less on icy roads?
