Hey that’s 1 degree lower than the last time I looked!

And to think it’s only June with July and August still to come…

Maybe it will be a dry heatwave.

Costco has Haagen Dazs ice cream bars on sale. Got a box. Ready.

I am getting a bit worried about this. I will be miserable, but can tough it out. My fish tank on the other hand is going to be an issue. My condo is on the top floor and is usually 2-3º warmer than it is outside. So if it gets into the hundreds my condo my could as well (but at higher temps it is a bit cooler than outside). I am not sure what the upper limit for tropical fish is, but it’s going to be tough to battle. I am guessing I can do a couple or water changes a day with cooler water? Websites say to use ice cubes, but I can’t make ice at that scale with treated water.

My cats love heat, but I think this is going to be too much for them as well.

It takes a lot of energy to heat water. How big is the tank?

Put the fish in the freezer and take them out again when the heat wave is over.

Only 15 gallons, so it will heat up slowly, but even when it gets into the 90s I have to watch it closely to keep the temp down. 100+ with lows in the 70s, it’s going to take a lot of watching. I think I can do about a 10% change with cool water twice a day and the fish will be fine. It’s going to be a long weekend regardless.

If the neighbors cat puts a hole in this one, I’m parking out there with a BB gun

Ah, the neighbor’s cat.

Can you use regular ice in a ziplock or a coldpack or something?

That’s a great idea, thank you.

You can observe if they appreciate it by sticking close as temps rise.

Homemade iceberg! You should put a little toy Titanic in there too.

his carp will go on.

Oh, I’ll be miserable I’m sure. But for real, we’re having unseasonably mild weather this year.

I appreciated this post. :)

Just in case, for those of us without air conditioning:
