West coasters it’s like I always say, I want you to be wet, but not hurt.

Getting some double rainbow action this morning as forward elements of the storm move through.
Things sure have changed since the days there was a pot of gold at the end of these things.

Are you sure the pot of gold isn’t in that truck??

Thanks, man! <3 I mean, I’m not a West Coaster but I assume that applies to adjacent Qt3ers? :)
Looks like the rainbow may just end in pot now.
Been pouring pretty much steadily since early this morning, and it’s not supposed to stop until after midnight. If this storm doesn’t end up dropping 6 or 8 inches of rain, I’ll be pretty surprised.

Loving this “Bomb Cyclone.” Pouring with rain and the wind is blowing fiercely. I wish we got storms like this more often here in WA. A nice day to sit inside watching the weather with a good drink.
Once we lose power for a few hours I am sure I will like it less. Only one blink so far. (As I typed this, it went out again, for a good 20 seconds.)

We got a quick taste of the storm in Portland today. Lasted only about 20 minutes at my place.

It has oddly passed already. It’s a dark cloudy day, but the rain and wind have both stopped. It’s like being in FL again: a big storm comes through and is gone 20 minutes later. (It did last a good hour here though.)
Out here in the Far East bay, it’s just steady and constant. My pool is about to overflow.
In the North Bay I’ve been without power for around six hours now. I have Tesla Powerwalls, but without solar to charge them (because rain), it’s a bit grim. If I do nothing they’ll make it around 24 hours, or do I fire up the PC, play games, maintain sanity and hope the Powerwalls make it to dawn?

I was with a girl that had them. Blew all of my fuses.

I was wondering why CA was getting more water than the PNW, even though we are closer to the bomb cyclone.

the worst of it seems to have hit a few miles south of us, in the Newberg area.
Meteorologists are just combining two words together until someone calls their bluff.
Steady rain lol day here in north San Jose. A couple nearby trees blew down.

Yeah there was a moderate 20 minutes there around noon, but then it just petered out.
We may see the next arm of the bomb cyclone though.

Up here in the high desert my weather station says we’ve gotten 1.8" since midnight. According to it the total rainfall this year including today is 3.3".

Got about two and a half inches of rain before it turned to snow overnight.
The leaves are still mostly on my flowering plum and aspen trees and the heavy snow had the branches bent to the ground. I put on my ski clothes to go beat the snow off the branches. After some whacks with a broom I got under the tree and just shook the trunk and branches and let all the snow fall on top on me.
And I just lost power.
