At least this will not be like a few years ago. We live in a pretty dense community where there aren’t a lot of places to put snow, so part of my driveway (I have a 2 car tandem spot, only use one) in 2015 had > 10 foot snow pile that took months to melt.
On the positive side, I got to meet all my neighbors that winter, because we all spent hours a day shoveling / snowblowing trying to keep up.
You need one of these, I also have a limited 20x10 ft grassy area for driveway snow. So I have one dedicated to cutting snow piles in half, then re-doing it a few times, till it’s got multiple slices to get the pile to melt faster.
I run a 120 ft in the spouting and downspouts to prevent ice buildup.
Just don’t let the cable overlap.

it’s currently 68 degrees outside, and early sunday morning it’s supposed to drop down to a record low of 29 degrees. I’m sure many here will laugh at that low, but my wardrobe and heating unit aren’t meant for that temperature :P

About five or ten years ago we had a major snowfall, and I was out shoveling the driveway. It was heavy going, and I distinctly remember suddenly thinking “Crimony, I’m going to be that guy who has a heart attack shoveling his driveway.” I slowed way down and paced myself, so I wasn’t that guy after all. But it was definitely one of those watershed “Crap, I guess I’m that age now” moments.
We’re finally getting some snow here, with enough accumulation that it almost looks like winter outside. It’ll likely disappear by Sunday afternoon though.

The odds are against it. While it may get cold here for a few nights snow isn’t in the forecast. Florida, ya know. But that is sound advice. Nothing like wearing heavy duty winter clothing and sweating your ass off underneath.

So they’re talking possible hard freeze Saturday and Sunday nights. That’s below 28. Plants and pipes in danger. But warmer again Monday. Not that it helps dead plants or burst pipes. Not usual for here.
Parts of Massachusetts look like they will be getting 3+ feet. They are blessed.

I’ve recently discovered brioche bread loaves at my supermarket. Absolutely awesome for French toast.
