Oof, I remember days like that when I lived in Thunder Bay. I didn’t have a car, so lots of time spent waiting for a bus/taxi or trudging my way to the corner store.

It forever redefined what “cold” was to me. Everything I previously understood as cold got downgraded to “chilly”. :) Stay warm up there, buddy!

😁

Mt. Washington breaks a record for lowest recorded wind chill in the US.

The record for the lowest wind chill ever recorded was broken on Mount Washington on Friday, with battering winds making it feel like -109° atop New England’s highest peak.

The prior record was -103°.

It’s this time of year again.

Today in Raleigh, a new record high temperature set for this date, 75 F

This weekend, cold front, chance of snow flurries and possible ice accumulation.

We’ve oscillated between sub-zero temps, temps right at freezing, and nearly 50F this past week. Now it’s back to windy and bitter cold, with blowing snow. But because yesterday it was at the high end, everything melted and turned into muck, which is now frozen muck. Yay?

Woo-hoo, snow!

I believe the last time San Francisco had snow accumulation was the in the 1960s.

Watching it snow out the window this morning in Poulsbo, WA. One last dusting before spring.

I can’t recall the exact year, but in the late 2000s there was a day we got a brief dusting of snow. I was living at about 600’ near the golden gate heights neighborhood at the time. Some of my neighbors went outside to take pictures and try to scrape enough snow off their cars to make snowballs or snowmen from it.

We have 2 inches here in upper Stanwood. My Wrangler is in the shop so all i have is my Stinger…a few accidents on the highway that leads to the freeway so I"m staying put for half day.

Just starting to stick in the higher elevations of Portland. Snowing but not sticking where I’m at.

Just stopped by me. Nothing stuck.

Weather is really doing me dirty this week. Trying to get a building painted in Bremerton. It’s either too cold or too wet.

You’re close man, couple weeks or thereabouts and we’ll be hitting spring time once again.

Me, I’m a mossback, I love the rain and gloom of fall and winter. I do just about all of my travel and hiking in Fall/Winter.

And I go into hiding during the summer and just close the blinds, there’s nothing I want less than daylight at 4:30AM that lasts until 10PM. ;)

And here the ice is starting to build up outside. Thankfully we can stay in the house and just hope the power stays on. I’d much prefer a snowstorm to an ice storm!

Six inches or so so far, and still falling. It’s relatively soft and not super wet though, but I’m still nervous about power.

We had snow then ice then a significant accumulation of sleet, which I think was a new one for me. Southern Michigan got pretty much all ice and the widespread power outages to go with it.

I gotta say, coming into this thread and your comment being at the top of my screen, without context . . . hoo boy. We’re all rooting for you, now get back in there!

I wish it was a full six inches…

@John_Many_Jars has your back.
