81 here today and 86 tomorrow. Too soon!

90s and high 80s for the foreseeable future here. The wasps are building. There is a nest in the garage door.

Gifted article. I thought this was really interesting.

Tulare Lake Was Drained Off the Map. Not a bad story, but the lack of a map seems like a rookie oversight. Too much focus on photos.

Funny, the commenters all said the same.

My sister lives in West Liberty, luckily it sounded like they just lost power. So that thing started down by Ottumwa and made it all the way up to Coralville? Yikes.

I found this neat page yesterday:

https://www.weather.gov/dvn/summary_03312023

The tornado pictured in the twitter video above, which is shown in terrifying detail here:

is presumably the EF-4. The two(!) that made it to Iowa City were only EF-2. The Coralville tornado is shown here:

The only damage I personally saw afterward was some downed trees and this warehouse-like building on the main drag through town that housed a few businesses including a taekwondo school:

We were in the center of another “extreme risk” storm area last night but nothing whatsoever happened, thankfully.

Yesterday we (thankfully not me) got a fun drive through the Colorado Rockies in the snow and flew home to Michigan where we get a rare 9am Tornado Watch. Getting the full weather experience.

Okay, some story I went to made it sound like it was same tornado, not just the same storm system.

That makes more sense. Glad you avoided that EF4.

I grew up in Cedar Rapids, but have been in the Phoenix area since 2000.

Which is funny because we moved here from Tucson.

So, I’m with my son in East Lansing, MI this weekend for a campus tour. Yesterday it was 81F, today it’s 71 and raining. Tomorrow…33 and snowing. WTF Michigan.

I’m in the Greater Toronto Area. Two days ago I pulled the cover off my air conditioner and fired it up deal with 30C weather. Now there is a possibility of snow flurries in the forecast for next week.

It’s not just Michigan it’s the whole Midwest, adjusted by a day for some presumably due to the speed of weather travel.

Spring isn’t just one season around these parts, it’s every season all rolled into one. Consider it a sampler platter.

Today I cleaned my AC unit out back (which is a bear because it is hella hard to get the top back on after cleaning). It was in the 80s, bright and sunny, like June is here normally. The rest of the week? Rain, highs in the 50s or even 40s. Down to 30s at night.

Heh, last week we had an inch of snow 2 days after we had a few in a row in the 80s. The forecast was for 3-5 inches and I was wondering if I’d be out shoveling with sunburn.

False spring about to hit Seattle. It’s tulip season, too, so next Saturday is going to be a goddamn traffic nightmare on I5-North

It kind of sucked yesterday when we drove up to Petsmart for a vet appointment. Way too many peeps. I drove around last weekend when it was raining and no one. Fair weather tulip fans.

It’s not too hot or not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.
