Correct !

It is a really good film, Claire Denis trying to do Yasijuro Ozu and succeeding sort of.

Wow, you really did a good job of sounding like an obnoxious dick.

I s’pose you’re right…I was just trying to remind Mr. Tucker to post a movie.

Ah crap!

Easy one:

Yeah he should.

Aw what the heck I posted that late.

Is it Ran?

13 Assassins?

Man, I don’t want to sound all Debbie Spendit, but this string of Asian cinema 20:20s almost makes me pine for the days of the black-and-white early talkie 20:20s from movies like Citizen Kane, Grand Illusion, and Raging Bull.

Tom thinks all these asians…lookalike??

tsk.

Well, at least it beats lame arthouse horror movies and B grade “character” dramas. :-P

Anyway, I get the vague sense I’ve seen this, but can’t quite place it. The flicks that spring to mind are black and white, but that’s obviously not right.

I’m going with Chushingura, since that should cover about half of all samurai movies ever made.

Definitely not it, but what the hey. When the Last Sword is Drawn?

Says the guy who brought the thread to a screeching halt with Era of Vampires, whatever that is. :) You guys just wait until I get to go again. I’ll show you some lame arthouse horror movies like you never even saw!

 -Tom

As someone who’s been watching some of your “14 days of Halloween” picks, I can vouch for you knowing from bad arthouse horror.

I don’t know what it is, but I ordered it from Amazon, after seeing those shots. I can’t wait for it to arrive. :)

The only good 20:20s are the ones that I can guess.

That’s honestly the only way to feel about this game.

Hahahahahaha, Tom is right.

Hey now! That’s not bad arthouse horror that’s bad (only partly campy, to be honest) Asian horror! Totally different thing. You can tell the difference because the vampires hop.

And you make a good point – so long as we can keep the Asian cinema ball rolling, we’ll be safe from the worst of your netflix history. ;-)

Hahahaha! Awesome.

Truth be told, I also ordered some of the suggestions for which movie it might be, such as Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame. I like to order my Hong Kong movies in batches. :)

I thought that was it. The part where the guy is being a jerk and practicing his archery on villagers. But I wanted to get a guess in too.
