I just remember these creatures vividly, and being resolutely creeped-out by them.

Also, this scene resonates as being disturbing somehow, though I don’t really remember why…seems like it might have been a dream sequence of some kind:

I really can’t wait to see it again.

Gone with the Wind?

I’m going to guess Gone With the Wind, because of the costumes.

edit: Oh, come on!

Gone with the Wind.

[Edit] Dammit!

At least it wasn’t a full-on pic of Scarlet’s face - but you can still see her mouth getting ready to complain about something.

I recognised the green bow, last time I saw GWTW was on a plane to India and I got all teary from the opening music.

This is a wild guess, but Boy A?

Not Boy A.

I originally saw the movie in the theater after reading the book, and it definitely creeped me out. Like 2001, the ending is sufficiently vague and open to interpretation that the movie kind of sticks with you afterwards.

I’m not going to spoil it for you, but yes that was a disturbing scene in the movie. Kinda dumb on adult reflection but plenty creepy back then.

Can’t believe I’ve been on the board 24 hours and already you’ve got me itching to re-watch Black Hole.

I have vague memories of the main plot being a metaphor for Paradise Lost. If I’m crazy and was imagining it I’d rather someone tell me now than wait until after I sit through it again. I’m already annoyed by memories of the lame R2 ripoffs.

That’s time I could spend re-watching Flatliners.

Ratcatcher!

Yup! One of my all time favourites!

Great pick! That kid’s face is unmistakable, in fact it’s one of those rare films that gets its casting so spectacularly right!
Which begs the question, what on earth was Lynne Ramsay thinking coming up with such a weirdly dull cast like Tilda Swinton and John C Reilly? Bringing forth (of all people) Ezra Miller?!
I mean just look at the guy! Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner would have been much more convincing as his parents. (He was great in Afterschool though…)
But I digress, my picks will be up shortly.

I think she had a choice about casting Miller whereas the other two were probably much more about finding funding. I like Reilly in it though, I can’t think of someone who can get away with being such a dafty and staying likeable.

I have no idea what that is, but I think I may need to watch it.

No one? Ok 40:40

I’m probably way off, but I’m going to guess Sleepwalkers.

Oh that’s clearly Rape Ghost Forest.
