I would say Pan’s Labyrinth, but that looks more horror-y than that.

Not Pan’s Labyrinth.

The Strangers?

Hmm, so it is. I still think you’ve imperceptibly squished it down to trick us.

Ju-On?

Not The Strangers, not Ju-on.

The People Under the Stairs, since it’s a person, who is under some stairs?

Not The People Under the Stairs.

40:40

Is it Rare Exports?

Uh it’s clearly the original Japanese version of Home Alone.

Not Rare Exports. And it’s not Japanese. The 60:60 might help…

Black Christmas

Yep, that’s it. Written and directed by Glenn Morgan, one of the Final Destination guys and an alum of X-Files and Millenium. I think it’s an underrated movie as long as you go in knowing what you’re in for. The big set piece fight at the end, in particular is Final-Destination-y in a good way.

Here’s the final screen (which does not speak well to the quality of the movie):

Aww, I was going to guess that.

I Trachtenberg’d it.

Hold on to your butts and hang out by your nearest nursing home, oldie incoming…

20:20

That looks kind of like Jack Lemmon, so I’m going to say The Apartment. (In case that was an embarrassing guess, I’ll just point out that I don’t watch movies for the elderly)

Interesting guess, but The Apartment is 2.35:1.

I think that’s Rosalind Russell, and it’s not Clark Gable or Peter Lorre… so, gosh, Fast and Loose?
