Nicely done.

I love this movie so much. I just watched it again when I was prepping for our Beasts of the Southern Wild podcast. There’s no actual connection that I know of personnel-wise, Beasts just brought George Washington to mind. It’s so good.

I suppose I should give All the Real Girls another shot now. Arg.

It helps to watch it expecting exactly what is on the poster, then your pleasantly surprised. Also there are some great little riffy improv bits.

And yet it is in Academy aspect ratio. I thought it might be Godard’s Detective, but A: this is Tom and B: I checked and it’s totally not (the actress looks kind of the same, except she’s clothed).

Like many things about this movie, that aspect ratio isn’t what the director intended. I think a bunch of you know this movie, and the next image might give it away. Certainly the 80:80 will do it.
