I’m gonna throw out Tucker: The Man and His Dream.

Yeah, based on that car it’s pretty tough, Peggy Sue Got Married? But it seems a bit early to actually be back in the period.

H.

Devil in a Blue Dress?

Nope! Wrong decade on all counts. The 40:40.

Well now I’m confused… I thought 50s was the right decade? LA Confidential is 50s, at least… not sure whether Peggy Sue’s time travel thing was early '60s or late '50s…

Oh hey wild guess: The Killer Inside Me?

Ah, man, Gordo stole the answer from me and I bet he hasn’t even seen the movie! I totally was about to get it. :( That’s Simon Baker, Tom Bower, and Casey Affleck, from left to right.

Ohhh, damn. That guy on the left looks a lot like Chris Cooper from behind. I was trying to figure out which movie set in the 50s with Cooper it was.

Here’s the twist: I was talking about the decade in which the movie was made. It’s a terrible twist though, because it’s a 2010 movie, not a 2009 movie. Nevertheless the jig is up and you can’t take me to court because everything went up in frames. Congratulations on your victory.

I see. Devious.

20:20

I don’t know what movie that is, but I will say it is the best screencap that’s been posted to this thread so far.

40:40:

Well, if nobody got it off the 20 or the 40, I doubt the 60 will help. I’ll post the answer in a bit.

It’s an old movie, but a highly acclaimed one that recently received a stunning blu-ray transfer (sadly these screencaps are from a different source and don’t do it justice).

Is it Black Narcissus? The Red Shoes? That last shot definitely has that Powell-Pressburger fantasy look.

This is one of those movies that I’m sure I saw as a kid, but there’s no chance in hell I can remember what it’s called. The 40:40 character definitely looks familiar to me.

Charmtrap got it – Black Narcissus. Rivals “Life and Death of Colonel Blimp” as my favorite Powell/Pressburger film, and the cinematography is astounding.

Aw, too bad…you almost got the win.

Netx, probably easy:

Fast Times at Ridgemont High?

Nope, sorry.

School Ties?
