One of the funny things about Incident at Raven’s Gate is that de Heer couldn’t keep his hands off a crane he managed to get for the shoot.

Oh boy, isn’t that the truth. We had a crane for a TV documentary once, and suddenly there were all these improvised crane shots. Cranes make everything look 10 times better, unless they’re in shot in which case they look ugly.

You haven’t seen Ten Canoes yet Tom? For shame! The other de Heer movie which I can recommend is The Tracker, although I haven’t seen all of his work.

Sigh. Oh well, I’m pretty sure this isn’t going to work for anyone, but I’ll throw out one more frame. This is the frame I first thought of using when I saw it the other night, because it called to mind one of Tom’s recent frames, but I thought it was too obvious to go first.

I have a brilliant idea that might enliven the thread a bit. It is a variation of the theme: it is called “The movie frame game 20:20” that is, you pick a movie and post the frame at 20 minutes 20 seconds.

Here’s an example:

20:20 guess the film

It’s a very well known and seen movie, and it’s funny because a few seconds before or after the answer would have been obvious. Who knows maybe it still is.

Is that Lock Stock? It doesn’t seem like it should be 20 minutes in, but it’s definitely yellow and grainy with people running away through an alley.
