I finished season 3 of Borgen last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The series aired 2010-2013.
According to Wikipedia, “It was announced on 29 April 2020 that, in a partnership between Netflix and DR, a fourth series with the original creative team and Sidse Babett Knudsen and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen reprising their roles is programmed for broadcast in 2022. The first three series were added to Netflix globally on 1 September 2020.”
I started watching Borgen recently. Glad to hear it holds up into season 3!
I recently watched the second season of After Life and it was pretty good. Ricky Gervais is a really decent actor. Not a lot of people can play near-suicidal depression that well. And I guess a third season is coming!
I thought for a minute you meant that show where the guy dies and his fiancee has him uploaded. I can’t even remember the name now, but I was hoping a second season of that was out.
I haven’t seen that, but I believe you’re talking about Upload on Prime Video. So… wrong thread!
But thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot about that show the last time I got Prime Video.
Internet high five!
Netflix today sent me an email saying they think I’d like iCarly. I’m…not sure I’m in the demographic for that one.
iCarly is actually a gritty drama set in space.
As someone who had kids in the appropriate age when iCarly was running, I’ll say that it’s actually fairly entertaining fare. I mean, it’s still a dumb show aimed at adolescents but at least the characters are likable and some of the jokes are solid.
Holy shit really? Well let me strap in then!
I’m sure it is, but likely not for me. I mean the entirety of my recent Netflix watching was a rewatch of Deep Space Nine and every John Mullaney special they have. Where one gets, “Hey, I think THAT 48 year old man would like iCarly.” is beyond me.
Hah, my kids and I were recently reminiscing about how funny the older brother was in that show.
There’s a weird set of in jokes available to parents with children of similar ages, because everyone has the same background in kids shows. My wife and I will still throw out Patrick Star jokes, Freddie jokes, Sokka lines, or threaten each other with a sock full of butter.

Any impressions of this Netflix import Equinox? Looks kind of interesting but not sure what it is exactly.
That’s the one with the now-young woman who was the adorable child actress in School of Rock, right? I think I caught a few minutes of that once and thought it was decidedly meh.

Season 2 of Bonding is out. After some criticism from the BDSM community they brought in an intimacy consultant and leaned heavily on the message of consent (and not just in the dominatrix role) in this season.
It’s a very short series - 15 episodes in total so far of about 20 minutes a piece. Enjoyable and works well as an “in-between” while you look for something else to binge long-term. Probably goes without saying that there is a lot of sex stuff in the show (no nudity I can recall).
BTW, that docu-series on swear words? It’s kind of silly, rather dumb much of the time…and still quite entertaining, regardless. As something to have playing in the kind-of background while sifting spreadsheet data, it’s pretty fantastically suited to that task.

Re: iCarly:
My daughter texted me the other night saying that she was watching it, and asked “am I too young to be reminiscing?” (She’s 21)
As some who does the same on a regular basis, there really needs to be a category for this. Romance, Reality, Low key shows for data manipulation.

Looks good. I always have to temper my expectations for novels bad on adults though. The love triangle’s are … ehh.
