Speaking of “Making of” type shows, I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes (out of 4) of Movies That Made Us on Netflix. First episode was Dirty Dancing, 2nd on Home Alone, and I watched the third last night on Ghostbusters. In each of these cases, I’m kind of amazed at what a scramble it was, and how hard it was to get these movies made. The last episode is Die Hard, I hope to watch that one soon.

The show itself is pretty well put together. They got nearly all the important people involved with the making of each movie together to talk about it. And to talk about the people who have since passed on.

Did anyone watch the second season of that Ricky Gervais show where he’s a grieving widower? I liked the first one.

Yes, I liked both seasons a lot. I recommend Season 2 if you enjoyed the first one. (After Life).

So… With all the hoopla being made about Schitt’s Creek, I’ve decided to check it out. Currently 5 episodes in and its ok I guess? Rather mediocre for now, I gather it gets better later? Season 2? 3? seems like quite an investment to “get to the good stuff”…

This has be discussed ad nauseum

That’s what happens when we don’t have a dedicated thread for it. Discussion of it spread in different places and not easy to find, so you end up with repeated discussion about the same things.

Cormac: I found Season 1’s ending to be where I got into the groove of the show. I really enjoyed Season 2, and was okay with Season 3, though I didn’t find it as charming as Season 2. I’ll watch Season 4 somewhere down the road.

LOVED the episode with Lin Manuel Miranda - he’s just such a great guy. The first one was fine, and Alicia Keys seems a genuinly nice person, but the episode itself wasn’t as interesting to me, as the second one.

Looks like Netflix cancelled both GLOW and Teenage Bounty Hunters. Looks like GLOW got axed because they couldn’t shoot due to the pandemic.

Sorry to bug you then!

Good point. I’d searched for a thread and didn’t see one. Thanks for the info!

The hell? Did Glow S3 have satisfying ending that can serve as series finale?
Netflix is weird.

Yeah, pretty much. It’s ostensibly a cliff-hanger, but it also definitely closes a chapter in the story.

Cool, I will watch it then. It has been in “my list” for a while, I was just waiting for the last season to be out, which now…it is.

Finished the final season of Schitt’s Creek this weekend. What a disappointment!

It felt like that now that the show is popular and won some awards, it had to become more mainstream and overly sentimental. What was once hard and cynical became mush.

Plus O’Hara so overdid the accent that it was almost unlistenable. Go back to the first or second season and you can hear a real difference

I couldn’t get through the first episode.

Yeah that show was terrible. I couldn’t handle the idea that there’d be backstabbing and infighting from minute one on one of these trips. I get that there needs to be drama, but we all know that NASA and other countries’ agencies select for personality stability. They’re not going to pick people who are going to pick fights and backstab each other.

Plus: cellphones? Really? With better reception than I get terrestrially?

Away was terrible. Just piles of network TV melodrama. Couldn’t get past first episode either.

I, for one, was really expecting/hoping for another season, and think cancelling this show (GLOW) sucked [hindquarters].

BTW, re another cancelled show (I Am Not Okay With This), is there some other medium in which the story continues? I was getting into that one.

Just the premise of the show was enough to turn me off. I guess I didn’t miss anything.
