New 20. This should go pretty fast, but oh what a lovely frame that is.

Huh. The woman he’s hustling looks oddly like Tina Fey.
Is that The Verdict? One of my favorite Bruce Willis movies?

P.S. Charlotte Rampling.
That’s not Tina Fey, you whippersnapper! Clearly it’s Helen Hunt!
Actually, Christien is correct. It’s Charlotte Rampling and Paul Newman in The Verdict.
One of my favorite Bruce Willis movies?
Thanks for making me waste the last twenty minutes!

40, 60, 80 for completeness’s sake.

I haven’t seen The Verdict yet, but is every character always as smug as these stills suggest?
I have not seen it in many, many years, but I remember being totally caught up in it and really liking the performances. And I remember thinking Paul Newman was amazing. It is widely believed that his Color of Money Oscar was a make-up for this. Although giving it to Ben Kingsley that year I don’t think qualifies as a scandal.
I’m glad Gordon posted this. I totally forgot David Mamet worked on the script, and I love Sidney Lumet. I really need to watch this again.
I’ll have a new frame up as soon as I can.

Newman’s performance was great, probably the best of his career. We discussed this film in another thread a couple of years ago and I certainly haven’t changed my mind about the script. Although I normally really like Mamet and Lumet, as a lawyer, I thought this plot was so stacked against Newman’s character as to be ludicrous. That said, I know a number of lawyers who really like the film, but it’s probably because they’re personal injury plaintiff’s lawyers. They tend to view themselves, in all of their cases, as being Newman’s character (but perhaps without all the drunken baggage).
Not seeing this smugness ye speak of. It’s a good movie with a great cast.
Yeah, not really seeing that either. I blame Bruce Willis.
That looks like John Gallagher Jr.
Short Term 12

No? You guys aren’t seeing the actors wearing smug expressions? I saw Gordon’s screencaps, and — keep in mind that I have no context for the scenes — this was my reaction to what the characters were thinking.
Spoiler to save on H- and V-Scroll
(Please excuse the crudity of the model, I don’t have much experience in layout, image editing, or apparently, humor.)
I want this to be a regular feature. Kind of a comic book version of MST3K.
“Hair = fantastic.” That’s gold, Jerry. Gold!

Man, are you misreading those scenes.
I’ve got one, but it will be up later today.
Had to check the list. Wow, we’ve done more than 1,300 movies?
Let’s see if anyone gets this on the 20
