Party on, Wayne! (I did say I was ready, earlier)

20:20

I think you meant to say, “Hashtag, I did say I was ready, earlier.”

Plague Dogs?

Nope!

No love?

40:40

Watership Down! (Tell me if I’m out of line, making the only two guesses in a row, even if there was a frame between.)

That is absolutely Watership Down - and don’t worry too much about the “rules”. They are fairly fluid. If you don’t feel like you are cheating then you probably aren’t.

Yes, you win. You were so close on the first guess, but you chose the other animated adaptation of a Richard Adams novel.

I won’t be able to post the rest of the screens until tonight.

I picked Watership Down because there’s a big bunny that lives in my backyard, and recently a big cat moved in next door, and he likes to hang out on my deck. Poor bunny, I hope he makes it.

But that reminded me of Watership Down, which is like an unholy mesh of Disney, Orwell, and GRRM. It’s about a group of bunnies who need to find a new home in a beautiful but completely merciless countryside. I remember seeing it as a kid and being completely shocked at all the violence and murder in a cartoon.

It got remastered recently and out on blu ray, which is why the screens look so sharp.

Well, Plague Dogs takes the grimness of Watership Down and turns it up to eleven.

I watched Watership Down recently with my kids after reading them the book, which might be my favorite novel. I don’t remember that 20:20 roadkill shot at all, but the quality of the background art and the grittiness of it made me instantly think of Plague Dogs.

Now I have to figure out how to get a shot from a movie (nevermind finding a movie that hasn’t already been done!) I’ve never won the frame game before… barely participated because I don’t know movies so deeply. Give me a bit.

Okay, that wasn’t so bad. Just happens to be another animated movie. Bet it’ll be guessed pretty quickly…

In what movie would you see this at 20:20?

Princess Mononoke?

Unless you’re Catholic! (but that can’t be helped, so same difference).

That’s the Hobbit. Those wolves are after one Bilbo Baggins whose got something special in his pockets. The wolf in the lead just tore through a nasty little dwarf trying to get the hobbit.

I’d have guessed as charmtrap did.

Princess Mononoke, indeed!

Here’s 40:40…

And I love 60:60

Hit it, charmtrap!

On the off chance that charmtrap is wrong: Nausicaa?

Edit: oops, too late.

Here’s an obvious 20!

Gosh, could be one of a thousand movies. I’ll guess Rebecca.

Jesus, man…I thought that one was at least getting to the 40.
