Have you read the short story by Ted Chiang? There are things I like about it more than the movie and things I like about it less, but it’s certainly worth a go if you liked the film. Chiang’s other stuff is also… interesting. He’s certainly a unique voice, though sometimes I can’t figure out what the hell he thinks he’s doing. :)
I certainly did, along with other short stories in the same book. I loved most of them.
And yes, the story and the movie kind of complement each other? They develop the main premise in slightly different directions (determinism in the story, existentialism in the movie) and both work really well in their own unique ways. I loved that.

I just learned that head shrinking does not involve actually shrinking the whole head including the skull. Just the fleshy bits and hair get shrunk.
