I was at a park yesterday, noticed a big lump in a tree nearby and happened to catch sight of, I think, the first wild owl I’ve ever seen: a juvenile.

I do love that one so very much. The owl, from what I can see looks like a horned owl. Of course I could be wrong.
A tiny reddish colored owl landed on my fence after a storm many years ago. I took a photo but probably never had the film developed IIRC. Sometimes you can hear some hoots at night where I live now. I’ve also seen some hawks and falcons too. (No photos.)
Hah, I loved that owl so much in that movie! Good times.
EM is fun in so many ways. So much that I just had to get a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. ;)

Uhh, what’s happening there?
I’d guess it’s some form of tonic immobility, such as sharks that go into a relaxed state when grabbed by the snout, or fainting goats. Animals that play dead when confronted with what they interpret as a threat also fall under that category. Maybe the chicken thinks the line in the dirt is a snake.
