The new OMM?

So it’s not quite as funny as OMM, and not quite as clever (although my opinions on that may be clouded by just how great I thought OMM was), but http://www.failmath.com does a decent job of filling the gaming satire void.

I’m especially curious to hear what Chet and Erik think of the site.

Thresh? Romero comparison shots? Not very funny. It’s still a young site, so it would be discourteous to be too hard on them. Hopefully it’ll get better.
Good of them to take a shot at Tim Rogers, though. That guy makes me wanna kill.

Apparently a young site using dated humor.

Maybe a red ferrari reference will help it.

Nevermind.

Too long, and like the others said, not very topical. Yeah, uh, that Nolan Bushnell, he sure did a lot of cocaine!

I found the Invisible War review useful though, in that the screenshots of all the spelling mistakes in the sign textures sealed the deal vis-a-vis me not ever playing the game. How many people had to drop how many balls to let those mistakes get through?

The Space Monkeys entry at the bottom of the Archives page gives me hope for this site’s future. Very true, what is said there.

Caltrops can pull out teh funnay sometimes, try

and even

It’s full of ex-OMM forum types, and could be thought of as the retarded-mutant-psychopath-younger-brother site of Q23, kept locked up in the basement with dirty socks in its mouth so the neighbours can’t hear the screams.

Failmath is pretty lame, looks like. The official unofficial new OMM is Caltrops, which is generally pretty ok.

I have to agree, nothing screams half-assed like a stream of spelling errors.

But those screenshots of developer quotes are pretty damning. Sounds like some folks generally hated working on the game.
