I really played the crap out of this game for the past couple weeks, well not really played as much as watched it play like a lazy bastard. It’s kind of a good ‘diumb’ game for a casual city builder. What annoys me the most about this game is not the drm or the small cities, but it just feels too easy and the RCI seems … broken at least compared to the older simcitys.

Yeah I played it a ton for a while, and the game is really a blast, but I’m at the stage where I’m waiting for some balancing and bug fixing to get implemented.
More PR bunk coming from EA with them now going as far as stating that DRM is a “failed, dead-end strategy” that had absolutely NOTHING to do with SimCity being always online.
It has to be an online experience like an MMO where you bring out new events, new kits, new places to go, and that’s more the vision for where SimCity is going.
They also reiterate how they’ve fixed the server issues and that SimCity is continuing to sell well while dismissing the negativity as the result of a “snowball” process in the media.
Full interview here.
If its still selling well it encourages them to go further with this – any vocal Media/Consumer advocates are in the minority and can easily be ignored.
Next version of EA’s Sim City will just be a bucked of mud and a shovel.

And when you lift the bucket the handle will come off and it will be filled with mud that is really wet cardboard.

Watched two fire trucks and a helicopter circle the same block for maybe ten minutes. There was a house on fire, but they could never seem to find it… for some reason.
Yahtzee plucked the low hanging fruit and ripped into Sim City on Zero Punctuation this week. He sounds genuinely bitter and angry about this game. He’s not engaging in his usual emotional hyperbole for laughs; he’s just savage.

It was just so entertaining!
It was also tonally rather different than his usual work. Yahtzee talked much more slowly than usual and wasn’t merely snarky, he was downright venomous. It’s a scathing piece of criticism.

Yahtzee is also missing cheetah speed.
site and or link is broken. :(
Works fine for me–try it again.
Mmm, he nailed it, and nailed EA.
This is driving me mad.
Is there a limit on how much of a service I can share between cities? I have one city (purely dedicated to producing power) showing 220MW excess. Then the neighbouring city starved showing a 67MW deficit. I’ve set the 1st city to supply the other but it doesn’t want to give any more than 74MW.
Am I missing something here. I’ve sat on the region view for a while to see if it just takes time but nope, no joy. I’ve exited and restarted the game but nada. Any solution here?
Edit: Also, I have the conspiratorial feeling a lot of the problems with the game are somehow being hidden from search results. Any time I look up a bug or issue its very hard to find anything on the subject other than wikipedia or glowing reports on how great the game is.
I read somewhere this is working as intended. You can only share excess divided by numbers of cities in the region to one city.
Btw, is region play working now? The last time I checked the massive delays in updates or resources flows simply stopping was one of the reasons I quit the game.
Cheetah speed still disabled with no ETA?
I’ve heard that cheetah speed is live on the test server?
