Rex Ryan confirms Tony Richardson will re-sign and will play vs Balt.

Whew, I am relieved. Cutting T-Rich actually upset me more than the whole Revis holdout.

Ravens are officially going for broke. Love it.

Ravens traded Clayton to the Rams for a late round pick.

Guess we have our answer:

If there was any doubt that Seattle is in full rebuild mode this season, adding 7 players since cutdown day should be proof enough. As of right now, 27/53 players have been acquired since Carroll and John “Not Bo Duke” Schneider took over as coach and GM.

That’s pretty massive turnover for one season.

uh oh…

The summer has been anything but a breeze for the defending AFC East champs.
Pro Bowl left guard Logan Mankins remains unsigned and has demanded a trade. Defensive end Ty Warren suffered a season-ending hip injury. Top cornerback Leigh Bodden is done for the year because of a torn rotator cuff. Safety Brandon McGowan is gone with a torn chest muscle. Leading man Tom Brady wants a contract extension but hasn’t gotten one.

Then there’s Randy Moss. On Labor Day, the star receiver spoke to a reporter for the first time this summer, expressing his displeasure with how the Patriots are treating him.

Moss wants a new deal, too, and he feels snubbed without one. Moss is entering the final year of a deal that will pay him a base salary of $6.4 million this season.

“When you have done so much and put so much work in, it kind of feels like I am not wanted,” Moss told William Bendetson of CBSSports.com. "I am taking that in stride and playing my final year out, and whatever the future holds is what it holds, but it is kind of a bad feeling – feeling not wanted.

I thought Moss had been openly talking about how this would be his last year in New England. If I’m not misremembering, this is quite an about-face.

As I understand it he’ll be #3, with the expectation that he’ll move to #2 as he picks up the system. If Kubiak can turn him into a competent backup to the until-recently-known-for-being-fragile Schaub then great; there’s not much downside since QB3 is basically a free roster spot. Consensus is pretty much “Meh” : if Schaub goes down we’re screwed anyway. Pretty much everyone I talked to thinks Leinart is David Carr without the experience. I just wish he was rated higher in Madden so I could have gotten some trade value from him in our league.

So it looks like the Redskins are trying to trade Haynesworth back to the Titans?

After this, I’m now officially a Jets fan. Or at least a Rex Ryan fan.

What he said previously is that he didn’t expect to be back because the Pats are cheapskates and wouldn’t re-sign him. Now I guess he is asking for an extension.

Ah, I didn’t know that. I thought he was just planning on moving on.

Championshiiiip

Can he play corner? They might need him to play corner.

He’s so fuckin’ right!!!

Let’s go to eat a god damned snack!

I was already planning on rooting for the Jets this year because of him, but now I don’t see how I could have ever rooted for some slap-dick team.

And in the worst news ever, Rich Eisen won’t be hosting NFL Gameday Final, the NFL Network’s highlights show, anymore. He’s still doing everything else at the company, but now Fran Charles is in charge of that.

This sucks! Rich was the best highlights guy out there because of his honest enthusiasm for football. Chris Berman follows a script to make sure he gets as many of his stupid nicknames and catchphrases out there, whereas Rich just blatantly loves football. He made Tyler Thigpen exciting! Tyler Thigpen!

Fran’s fine, but he’s not Rich Eisen. Dammit.

Yeah, how can you root for a team that doesn’t have it’s priorities right? Eatin’ a bunch of fuckin’ cheeseburgers!

Tofu, remember the tofu. Don’t forget the humus while you’re at it.

The real value of Leinart isn’t in who wanted him right now, it will be in who wants him after this season. The problem is that most teams didn’t want to risk him being a distraction or problem as a backup, especially when he made it known that he still considers himself a starter.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see someone give him a shot next year to be a starter, though. Even Seattle if Whitehurst doesn’t look good this season.
