Redskins just cut Devon Thomas - meh. Wasted draft pick, not a contributor.

If the Raiders cut all their wasted picks, they wouldn’t have a team.
When released, he had this to say:
Maybe I just wasn’t the type they’re looking for. Maybe they just don’t want a big-play receiver who can do everything. Maybe that wasn’t appealing to them.
Lol. Yeah. You sure proved your big-play ability with your 3 year career where you had 40 catches, 445 yards (11.1 avg), and 3 whole TDs, didn’t you?

The Raiders have a team? I thought it was just a weekly fan costume event.
Well, someone this week kidnapped them and replaced at least the Defense and Special Teams with actual football players.
Some team will claim him and cut him again, and the 3rd team on the carousel will pay him the vet minimum.
Scared straight, he will have a breakout year, and some Redskins fans will point and say, look, we should have kept him.
The kid has NFL talent, no drive.
Man, that crowd looooooves Alex Smith.
Who would you rather have to start, Alex Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick?

It’s official. I give up on Alex Smith now. He looks great at times but then looks horrible. At this rate he’ll end the season with around 32 interceptions. At least the real Michael Crabtree finally emerged. Another disappointing game for the 49ers.

Frank Gore fumbling twice was huge as well.
Can’t wait for the Raiders to beat them next week!

GB need some bionics and shit or something. People be dropping to the ground faster than an Alex Smith pass.
Wonder if the Rams are lighting up Devin Thomas’s cellphone right now. No “official” word on Mark Clayton’s knee, but it looked like it crumpled up like an old ding dong wrapper and he’s out for the year. Shame too–he was really resurrecting his career.
Mark Clayton is out for the year. The Rams GM is reported as saying they have no interest in Thomas.
Heh. Stupid Cowboys.
BTW, what happened to the Rams? I didn’t get to see the game, but damn that’s a whipping from Detroit.
Well, Sam Bradford losing his #1 receiver probably didn’t help.
You’re probably right. Same comments that Shanahan made; kid has all the talent, but doesn’t get how to be a pro.

So simple.
“Dude, look at the players that have been successful in this league. Do what they do. Look at the talented failures. Don’t do what they did.”.
There are no coaches in San Fran that are able to judge what Smith can and cannot do and scheme accordingly. They either ask him to do everything - like 20+ yard passes that he clearly cannot make - or they let him call the plays, which works well some of the time but clearly not all of the time.
And yeah, even so, there is no hope if Gore cannot hold onto the ball nor if the defense under-performs as tragically as it has.
On a mild lighter note, I think Ted Ginn was a good addition. He’s been out since week 1 until last night, and his average on returns has got to far outshine whatever it was without him (I do not know the number but I do know it is dead last in the league).
Yeah, I watched it and I’m still not sure what happened. The Rams opened the game attempting an onside kick that failed, and Detroit drove about 20 yards and got a FG. Detroit also ran back a kickoff and picked Bradford and ran that in for a TD. The Rams fumbled inside Detroit’s 10. There was another INT (Suh on a ball someone else tipped) and another lost fumble by the Rams. It was Bradford’s worst game. He threw 5-6 really bad passes. He wasn’t helped any by his receivers, either. I bet there were five drops.
Detroit outplayed them but the Rams didn’t get smacked around like the score would suggest. Each team had only one sack, and Bradford’s sack was when he trotted out of bounds two yards from the line of scrimmage after being flushed from the pocket.
