There was a story that he and Brady got into a locker room fight here in NE before the Pats traded him. That turned out to be untrue, so I don’t give this story much credit either.
It was his press conference.
There is no way that Randy Moss gets past the Redskins - let me remind you the Skins are starting Joey Galloway and Anthony Armstrong at WR opposite Santana Moss.
A future hall of famer vs. a Practice squad player? The Skins will make a claim on Moss.

What’s gotten into the Raiders? Putting up over 50 on the Donks last week, and then brutalizing Seattle, who I thought was a pretty good team?
I haven’t really been paying attention to them because… well, honestly, because they haven’t been much worth paying attention to in past years… but DAMN. It’s like they just… flipped a switch and suddenly got awesome or something?
(<homerism>It’s all because of Lamarr Houston, of course.</homerism>)
It’s at least 50% their good RBs. Primarily McFadden of course, but Bush and Bennett aren’t bad either.
And Campbell is shaping up as well. He even blocked for McFadden(?), and quite a nice block at that.
I was at the game, which was great, but the stadium was just about half-filled. Where are all the Raider’s fans?
Nope – the waiver process is what happens when you get released.

Kansas City playing Oakland for control of the AFC West. It’s like the Nixon era all over again!

If you saw my standings in the ESPN Qt3 Keeper Fantasy league you wouldn’t be saying that!

Hey Lorini (or anyone else). Is there anything left of the old Chiefs-Raiders rivalry down there on the Left Coast? It’s been a while – a long while – since I’ve been in Kansas City, but it seems like there’s still a bit of a memory left over there.

There is no way Moss clears waivers. The Rams will grab him for sure, if he isnt taken before then. $3 mil for a hall of fame player is a trivial cost, baggage included.
As for his effect on Harvin…check his numbers this season pre-Moss. He definitely benefited in the short term.
I like all this Moss speculation! It’s like the Maltese Falcon!

It’s sadly always been that way as far as I can remember. Even when the Raiders were good and making the playoffs it was still tough for them to sell tickets and prevent games from being blackout in the late 90s/early 2000s.
No.
The Rams were maybe expected to win 2 or 3 games. They’ve won 4. For a lot of fans and the ownership, the team is playing with house money. As Mark notes, this is a team with leaders on the coaching staff as well as in the locker room itself in SJ39. So yeah, the Rams may not make the playoffs. They’d love to shock the NFL and themselves and do that…but expectations for a team that won 3 games in two previous years are pretty low and even if they go 6-10, they’re going to consider the season a success.
So why go get Moss? Sam Bradford needs to continue his development, and not having a deep threat receiver retards that a bit. Steven Jackson is giving pints of blood out there every game. Those guys would love to have a deep threat and NFL caliber receiver to make their jobs easier, playoff contender or no. Randy Moss might be that guy. He might not. He’s not going to be able to poison the Ram locker room. He might show up and loaf and mope. Big deal. The Rams will cut him and be rid of him if that’s the case. The price is small–Stan Kroenke blows his nose with $4m.
I did some reading. Up until the trade deadline, if a player is cut he immediately becomes a free agent and can sign with whom he wants. After the trade deadline he must clear waivers before he becomes a free agent, and if he clears waivers the Vikings are on the hook for his salary.
…if he’s been in the league for four years. But yeah, I forgot about that bit, since nobody gets outright cut before the deadline if their team can get something in trade for them.
I’m really enjoying the McNabb drama this week. :)
Jay Glazer just tweeted that the Rams did not put in a claim on Randy Moss.
I guess he ends up with Seattle, Tennessee, or Miami…

It’s possible that no one will actually claim him. After all, if they claim him then they are responsible for the rest of his salary. If you wait and sign him after he passes through claims you get him for cheaper and you know you are a team he wants to play for. A lot less risk either way.
I think the Titans and Miami want him badly enough to not risk letting him clear.

Apparently SI says the Titans did claim him.

Fisher was on Dan Patrick’s radio show this morning and claimed they weren’t talking about it, but said his only question for Moss would be how fast he could learn the offense. Interesting if true that they were the ones that took the risk. It would also mean that 22 teams passed on Moss.
Edit: Apparently the Bills claimed Merriman.
