Two of the losingest teams today lost partly because they threw when they should have run. Buffalo took the lead in its game, got the ball back after a three-and-out by Chicago, and then threw on first down and that pass got intercepted, leading to Chicago’s go-ahead/game-winning touchdown.
The Lions had the lead, ran twice then threw on third down for an incompletion, leaving plenty of time for the Jets to march down the field, score a field goal, and send the game into overtime, where they won the coin toss and then game.
I’m really bewildered by Buffalo. They throw too much. Why do they even have Jackson on their roster if they’re not going to use him? And Spiller? Did they really draft him just to return kicks?
And now Whitehurst is caught off-guard by the snap and loses how much yardage?

They’ve had a couple of center exchanges. I don’t know what people expected from Whitehurst. The offensive line has actually done a decent job considering the Giants reputation, but Whitehurst looks exactly like what you would expect a guy with no real game experience to look like.
The problem is that Seattle’s defensive line has been gutted by injuries and what little pass rush they were generating has disappeared. Hence Manning having all day to throw and the Giants running backs getting big gains on almost every attempt.
Stafford seems to have all the tools necessary to be hall-of-fame caliber, except for his fucking glass shoulders. Seriously, wtf Matt?
Can’t believe I paid $100 for my wife and I to watch this debacle. I tell myself I will learn from these experiences, but I never do.

Shaun Hill gonna be ready for next week?
My Cleveland Browns, a team its been years since I could feel passionate about them, have now beaten New Orleans and the Patriots. I am starting to think they are for real even at 3-5. Playoffs are probably a lost cause at this point, but the future does look brighter.
Also, Peyton Hillis gave the best running performance I can remember in years for the NFL. The Patriots knew the run was coming, and the guy was still getting 5 yards a carry.

Dare I hope the Raiders will make the playoffs?
TV said 6.5 yards per carry.
Damn it, New England! I hate to see you lose, but Cleveland played really well, and were clearly the better team today.

Crazy that it’s even a possibility considering how they looked 4 weeks ago when losing to San Fran. Glad to see Jason Campbell get another go as a starter. He wasn’t awesome in Washington, but the constant switches in coaches and offenses meant he never really got a fair shot.

I have no idea how we won that with half our roster inactive.

Same think I was thinkin…I guess it wouldn’t have even been a contest with Nnamdi or Murphy in. The defense was huge today, they kept the Raiders in the game in the first half. They also held the KC running game to 100 yards less than their average.
So KC is just falling apart lately. Were they never as good as their start suggested?
Wow, I knew that the Cowboys would be in bad shape without Romo, but holy crap this is just a slaughter.
They were in pretty fucking bad shape with Romo.
Gonna be a fun plane ride from Wisconsin to Dallas tonight.
Until their coaching staff figures out what every fantasy football owner in the country already knows–that Jamal Charles is absolutely an electric offensive player–they’re doomed. JChaz gains 238 yards last week and this week they sort of forgot he existed and insisted on giving the ball to Thomas Jones 18 times for 32 yards. If Todd Haley can’t figure out something so basic as this, he’s gonna get himself canned.
