McNabb signing is a weird turn of events, to be sure. Five years seems like too much, so I can see why McNabb would go along even though there would have been a couple of teams interested in him as a free agent (Arizona, Minnesota, San Francisco, etc.).
It’s just odd that after all the apparent stuff between McNabb and Shanahan that Shanahan would agree to being tied to the guy for the next few years.
Definitely a bit strange considering his issues this season (not to mention last)… now that it’s happened, of course he’s going to lose tonight.

I’m baffled by the McNabb deal. It makes zero sense from either side. The Redskins throw 40 mil guaranteed at a 34 year old QB with an injury history, who hasn’t played well in the offensive system they run. McNabb just got thrown under the bus by his head coach, and publicly was essentially called fat, lazy, and stupid.
I shouldn’t be stunned by anything the Redskins do anymore, but once in awhile, I get something like this. It’s unbelievable.
Well, look on the bright side! Now we have even more no money to give to wide receivers!
I think it makes plenty of sense from McNabbs side. I’d take a $40M/five year contract in my job even if it came with the proviso that my boss would publicly call me fat, lazy, and stupid. I know I would just grin and take it for that kind of money.

Yeah, this seems to be something that would be better decided tomorrow. I hope McNabb has a big game.
I’d be perfectly willing to change my name for the length of the contract to Fuckme McSaltyballs for that kind of money, much less be called fat, lazy and stupid.
And McNabb IS a Pro Bowl QB. I mean he only had Westbrook as a weapon for a good long while in Philly.
…and he’s gonna have even less than that at DC, especially now that they’ve spunked a lot of money on a getting-up-there QB.

I’d take Vick over McNabb for 40M gurra.
The Pittsburgh kicker threw the field under the bus today:
“I’m not one to make excuses,” Reed was quoted as saying in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I’ll take the credit for the miss. It was a great snap, a great hold, great protection. It’s kind of hard when you plant your foot and the hole – a piece of ground moves where the ball’s under the holder. I almost missed the ball completely.
“I’m not going to make excuses. If you’ve played any kind of sports in your life, you realize that what we play on is not very good turf. It happens.”
In other news, Chiefs coach Todd Haley refused to shake the hand of Broncos coach Josh McDaniel after the Chiefs forgot to show up in Denver yesterday and the Chiefs were down 35-0 before they knew what hit them. The exact reason why is not clear, other than “there’s a lot of [bleeping] people talking about you” but he apologized about not shaking hands today. Of course, it’s amusing this happened to McDaniels, who at the height of his Boy Wonderdom last year had beat the Patriots and his mentor on that very ground and was so orgasmic afterwards that the idea of shaking Bill Belicheck’s hand didn’t even enter his brain.

I recalled seeing him look for Belicheck for awhile after that game (and Belicheck looking for him) it wasn’t until it was clear they weren’t going to find each other that he went all spazz-mo.
I could be wrong.

Did you see that?
That Vick is somethin’ else!
I didn’t 'cos I forgot the game was on. Fixing that now.
That was indeed craziness. But yikes, what a play, throw, run, and catch to open up a drive.

Man, Kevin Kolb must be loving this.
Still at work - but was it as good as this?
Jebus, they’re just demolishing the Skins.

This is pretty comical. With more than 5 minutes to go in the first quarter, the Eagles are on pace to score 125 points tonight. :)
Well, I guess I can turn this game off.
Is that with or without defensive touchdowns?
