Just to clarify, my post wasn’t that Seattle could clinch the division in the next two weeks, it was that the division could effectively be decided. If Seattle wins its next two games (at home) they would be 7-5. If the Rams lose their next two games (on the road) they would be 4-8. With four games left in the season, it would be highly unlikely that the Rams would come back at that point to make the final game mean anything.
Well, five years later sure…and I agree, it’s probably the worst 1st round of at least 25 years. But IIRC several of those players had very promising rookie years, including Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, and Carlos Rogers. Roddy White was deemed a bust until just recently. And Pacman is a good player, but with just horrifying off field issues.

Even Braylon Edwards, who didn’t live up to his potential in Cleveland, is happy and playing well for the Jets as their #2 WR. If he stays with the team he could have a very good career.

Benson’s doing better since he moved to Cincy, but not #4 overall better.
If “until just recently” is five seasons ago, maybe. Wanna join our Fantasy League next season? We’ll let you have Torry Holt and Ahman Green.
White had 1,200 yards receiving in 2007. In 2008 he had 1400 yards on 88 catches and went to the Pro Bowl. C’mon.
I have a, uh, 3 year gap in my NFL knowledge due to work and personal issues, so my bad. But I’ll totally join so I can be like Andre from The League. And torry holt? Pfft, only if you throw in Marvin Harrison.
Just bustin’ balls Bacon. Just bustin’ balls. :)
I grabbed Rowdy Roddy in the 12th round in my league’s 2007 draft, and will have to either make him my first-round choice next year or not keep him (which is likely). But…White has caused me to win an awful lot of money during football season during the past few years, so I over-zealously champion him by reflex.

I believe Andre took the incarcerated Plaxico Burress in season 1, IIRC. Good times.
Really, the careers of Brown, Benson, and Williams should tell you never to get a running back in the top 5. It’s just too injury-prone a position and it’s too easy to plug in a late-round guy and get decent enough success. Spend those picks on offensive linemen.

I totally missed this from the other night.
Now we know how Millen decided to make all those great draft picks when he was in charge of the Lions - he just yelled and intimidated anyone who disagreed with him.
Edit: And the VY/Fisher thing apparently isn’t resolved yet.
RB is one of the last positions I’d take in the top 5, even top 10, because the expected life expectancy is too short. This is another reason you probably shouldn’t do some mega contract with one when their time is up. If you look at the backs with huge breakout seasons over the past 10-15 years, very often they only had a couple before falling off a cliff. We’ll see how CJ and AP continue over the next couple years, but I won’t be terribly surprised if one of them is a backup or a generic 1000 yard back in 2 seasons.
From Sarkus link, one of the user comments:
"Vince Young injured his thumb because he sucked it so much. "

HOW DARE you poke fun at one of Rimbo’s favorite players, Bacon. You should be ashamed of yourself.

In terms of this year, Williams is probably the best of that top 10 group. Took him a long time (and four teams) to get here, though.

You sure about that? Both Ronnie Brown and Cedric Benson have rushed for more yards than Williams.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear about which Williams I was referring too. Mike Williams has 52 catches for 654 yards. Brown and C. Williams have fewer total yards, though Benson does have about 100 yards more. You can make the argument for Benson stats wise, though in terms of team impact M. Williams has mattered more to Seattle in terms of making the team half-decent this year then Benson has to the horrible Bengals.

The Bengals’ problems aren’t on offense.
