Rivers will, at the current rate, be measured with Dan Marino, not Peyton/Brady.
He’s always been a great improviser- he’s just been shackled by idiot coaches most of his career.

Vick started the first game against the Skins, and got knocked out. The Skins won.
While his aggregate vs. the Skins certainly counts as kicking the crap out of the D - in W-L he’s 1-1

How much of that game did he actually play though? Wasnt he knocked out pretty early? And wasn’t the game close while he was in it?
And his win against the skins ranks as, iirc, the best game by a qb all year.

Vick was knocked out of the first Skins game in the first quarter.

Yeah so you can’t hold that loss against him.
I got a line on FO’s game-by-game stats for Vick.
The best QB in the league right now by DVOA is Tom Brady, with a 49 point something DVOA. Vick’s first game was against GB, where he posted Brady-esque numbers (51% DVOA). He also had that monster game against the Redskins, where his passing DVOA alone was 83.4%. Keep in mind he had two rushing touchdowns in that game, which are not reflected in that stat (I don’t have his rushing DVOA numbers).
Other than those two games he hasn’t put up Brady-like stats. However, he hasn’t had a bad game yet - his lowest DVOA was against Chicago which was 8.9% which is maybe a little bit better than average. It’s possible (perhaps even likely) that his DVOA in this week’s Houston game will be lower owing to opponent adjustment; 22/32 for 302 yards, 2TDs, and 1 pick is a good statline except Houston has by far the worst passing defense in the league.
So what’s all this mean? Vick’s very good, with a couple of sick games under his belt, but he’s definitely not best in the league good. There’s a good argument that he’s the best in the NFC though!
As others have said, he was knocked out in the first quarter.
No, that game wasn’t close while he was in it - the Skins took an early lead and hung on to it. He was knocked out scrambling for an apparent TD that was called back on a penalty.
In the end, we’re in agreement - he’s very good, but not the best of the best.
You forgot about the Cardinals.

I’m just going to go all homer for a moment here and say that I think I’ve found out who Andy Reid’s dream quarterback is - the best in the NFC. Here he is doing his Street Fighter tribute move:

You don’t want to be on the receiving end of that. We’ll have this discussion again later, when Vick consistently beats defenses that aren’t ranked in the bottom third of the NFL. Not to take anything away from his play; I’m saying that he needs to do it consistently first.
So, the L-word (lockout, that is…) keeps being bandied about…
At least that may finally force Brett into permanent retirement.

Brett on Dancing with the Stars?

Hey, Tavares Jackson is in the game!
Hey, there’s a pick-six!
Have fun, Vikes fans.
Jacksonville is running the ball right down Tennessee’s throats at the moment. The Titans seem incapable of stopping the run.
I’m watching the Redskins-Giants games. Total shootout from the Giants, of course.
But why did Redskins opt to punt on 4th down and 22 seconds left in the 2nd quarter?Seems like a wasted opportunity to me, albeit a longshot.

I’ll be surprised to see the Titans win another game this season.
See? Henne gives the game away in real life, too. So it’s not just my ineptitude in the Madden league…
This is a pathetic game to watch. Skins haven’t even been competitive the past few weeks.
Agreed. Only the Skins can make Devon Thomas look like a star player.
There was significant lack of effort on both sides of the ball there.
I am enraged at the moment. Instead of watching either Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta or Dallas vs. Indianapolis, I have to watch Carolina at Seattle.
Why don’t I get to watch good or interesting football? :( :( :(
::edit:: Okay, well, actually Carolina looks better now than they ever have because the run game is working (?!?), but still, I’d rather watch something else because I don’t seriously believe they’ll win this.

Yeah, they look completely finished. I don’t know if it’s the result of the VY fallout or what, but Fisher seems to have completely lost the team given the effort they’ve made the last two weeks.

I agree; that pass he just threw to Michael Huff was a thing of beauty!
