So far this Raider-Charger game looks just like the first Raider-Charger game! Gotta love it so far.
Edit: Jason Campbell==Mike Vike sans dog choking. Who knew?

OH MY GOD.
Amazing play, but will Jason Campbell come back?
Edit: Whew, back in the game.
Whoa. Dallas punt blocked for an Indy TD.

Not once, but twice.
This will be Norv’s first loss in December as head coach of the Chargers. It’s also clarifying the whole playoff picture a bit better, giving only KC complete control of their destiny. Oakland needs to win out and (I think) for KC to lose to SD to win the division, but I could be wrong on that.

Pretty interesting Cowboys/Colts game. Look’s like it is going to go into overtime.

Cowboys wussed out with about 35 seconds left and 3 timeouts. They ran the clock out to go into overtime, they better hope they get the ball in overtime.
Ooh, lost the game on a Peyton Manning interception…
Why does no one talk about the Saints or Drew Brees in this thread? It’s like they’re invisible, in spite of being the defending world champs and SI’s Sportsman of the Year, respectively.

I think I talked about them on Thanksgiving day…well mainly I was talking about my Cowboys, who lost to them, but that sort of counts. There you are in Dallas, complaining about the lack of love for the Saints. Shame on you, man. ;)
This is not last year’s Saints team, but they are very good. I think their chances in the playoffs ride on whether or not they can get the threat from the running game back. If Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush can get healthy, that sure makes them tough to beat.
The other thing that last year’s team did that this one hasn’t–at least so far–is just hawk the ball on defense. Last year for a while it seemed like the Saints were scoring a defensive TD nearly every game, and just demolishing other teams on turnover ratio. This year they’ve been pretty good…but last year they were off the charts.

The NFC West looks like it’s going to come down to that last game, barring a stumble or surprise by the two teams still in the hunt. Seattle goes to San Francisco, hosts Atlanta, then visits Tampa, before coming home against St. Louis. St. Louis is at New Orleans, hosts Kansas City, hosts San Francisco, then goes to Seattle. St. Louis probably has the edge in terms of schedule, but not by much.
It should be fun.
On another subject, I have no idea what Shanahan is doing with Haynesworth. There is no obvious endgame for the Redskins. And they are paying him way too much money to be sitting a guy for a whole game.
What NFL is this? Chargers and Indy may miss the playoffs?
Pitt one week looks like a juggernaut, the next pedestrian.
2 constants-
The Pats still win games despite the prognosticators
The Ravens still cant score points.

And this boggles my mind. That team has very solid talent at every offensive position.
The money’s already been paid - his terms this year and for the next are very pedestrian.
Given his effort last week - laying on the ground, they could have benched him and made an example of him to the rest of the team. Given the effort of the rest of the team, that is not what happened.
They were dominating that game in the first half. The blueprint on how to beat the Steelers is out there…and has been for years. How any team with a half decent offense does not carve them up boggles the mind.
I was wearing my Brees jersey out on McKinney Avenue Thanksgiving night. It was fun. :)
Cris Collinsworth said something last night that I think speaks to this. Ray Lewis told Flacco not to worry about turning the ball over, because the defense will always step up and save their asses. Naturally, the Collinsworth jinx took over and the Steelers won from a TD scored off a Flacco turnover.
I think the entire Baltimore offense has this attitude to play safe, eat clock, and let the defense win the game for us. It’s ridiculous that they can’t put up points with that offense. They almost play scared.

Damien: I suspect it’s because the Saints just aren’t as good as they were last year. Last year they were a dominant team, this year they’re part of the pack and they’re not even a leader.
