How many top defenses does Brady have to eviscerate to prove himself to you? Pittsburgh, check. Baltimore, check. Jets, check. Chicago, check. So they lost 2 games. You can’t go undefeated every year.

Baltimore? Eviscerate? You might want to look at the box score again.

Hmm good point Baltimore they just beat with a good amount of points, not an absurd amount. That was the week after Moss left, right?

As it stands the Patriots have beaten 6 of the top 10 defenses in the league, and most of them by high margins. Green Bay is on tap this week, and last I checked Aaron Rodgers doesn’t play defense. Let’s see how that one turns out.

Honestly, if any team can beat the Patriots right now it’s the Philadelphia Dogkillers.

With a good amount of points? Winning by 3 in overtime is a good amount of points? Or 23 is a good amount of points? Neither of which I think is the case. Also, Moss doesn’t have anything to do with it, obviously, since they continue to put up points in his absence. They beat the Steelers and Bears handily, and the Bears are a bit of a sham. The Steeler beat down was legit. Of course, I’m not saying Brady isn’t the best QB in the league right now, but he’s not other-worldly.

I’m saying 23 is a good amount of points, not their margin of victory. How is 23 points not a good amount, especially against a top defense? I’m sure more than half the teams in the league are scoring less than that per game, on average.

This is a dumb argument, we both agree the Patriots are wicked awesome but disagree on just how wickedly awesome they are. Meanwhile, Titans fans are decorating the paper bags to wear on their heads at the next home game.

I think you guys should each get a team flag and joust to settle this.

20 points is about league average, is all I’m saying. I’m down with the jousting idea, though.

The Pats will kill them if the Packers can’t get a pass rush going. Brady is killing defenses because they are using that Cover-2 and/or zone defense, which Brady can rip up.

With his second concussion of the year, Rodgers probably isn’t even going to play. The Packers are done, son!

Mike Vick would like to own a dog again.

In related news, Dr. Wily has said he’d like to own a robot again. He swears he’s reformed.

Seems like there are only two things that can make people in this country root against a good comeback story: sports and the batshit insanity of dog lovers.

Turns out there was more to that wall of players in the Jets game, so Alosi (the assistant coach) is in even worse trouble.

And in classic Jets form: The Pats do it too…whine!!!

what a dick

I’m sure the higher-ups knew nothing about any of it. Yeah.

Giants’ Steve Smith is out for the rest of the season

=(

If they had different people from the Humane Society to monitor Vick’s dog on a weekly basis, I could see Vick getting a dog. It couldn’t be just one person because the relationship might get too cosy. Dogs will tell/show you when they are unhappy so I don’t think he could hide any abuse from anyone who is watching the dog interact with him. If it was successful, it could be good for Vick, the dog (who presumably would come from the pound) and Vick’s family. If there was any issue whatsoever, they could just take the dog back.

I’m interested to see where TripGate ends up.

The Pats’ proponents said the same thing about Spygate, so I forgive the Jets for making that claim when it comes to Thighgate. Not that they (Sal and the entire staff) should be any less ashamed of themselves over the tripping.

I just wouldn’t be surprised if, after a review of tape, using the line in this way was actually not an uncommon practice.

It should go nowhere. Sure. tripping bad.
By the letter of the law, standing in your assigned area on the sideline is not illegal. It is out of bounds. This should not be anything. Ever see a player get flagged for delay of game because he doesn’t make it back on the field in time after flying into the other teams bench? You think he was getting a drink? Or do you think players and coaches do not get out of the way allowing him easy access back to the field?
Is that illegal too?

Did I just defend the Jets? i feel dirty.

Is this guy desperate for a job or something? He must surely expect to be fired. It’s an image conscious industry where upper management needs to be seen as “doing something.” I’d resign rather than take unpaid leave followed by dismissal. Maybe he doesn’t think he can find an equivalent salary anywhere else, or he really likes the team.
