Nod, I don’t watch the Raiders much. Like I said, Skins should have kept him - he was cheap and a 4th round pick is nothing for even an average NFL QB.

It’s funny because Campbell fits really well into what the Raiders are doing. Hue Jackson, the new Raider OC, has simplified the offense so that all Campbell needs to do is execute basic pass plays and then hand off to McFadden. Campbell has to complete enough passes to keep the defense from overrunning the running plays, and in many games he’s done that really well.

I think he’s going to be the Raider QB for awhile, or at least until Al Davis gets delusions of grandeur again. I and I think many other fans would rather see the team brought along slowly with successes. This season for the Raiders reminds me of when Lovie Smith came to the Bears. As most of you guys remember, Lovie never promised a SB, but he did promise to beat the Packers which he did. The Raiders aren’t going to the SB this year, but they beat the living shit out the Broncos in Denver and life doesn’t get much better than that for a Raider fan.

Chance we see another year of co-MVPs?

Conspiracy theory: McNabb agreed to the 3.5mil because he’d love nothing more than to take next year off and heal up, and bench warm somewhere else. He accepted that poison pill of not getting released until the start of the system specifically so he has a face-saving excuse to warm the bench for one year, preferably somewhere that he probably would get the job the following year. It might extend his longevity by 2-3 years on the back-end if he finally had enough time to get healthy, and really help his future health!

All Campbell needed was time with the same system, instead of new and complex systems thrown at him every year. He might never be a Brady/Manning-level QB, but he’s also no Quinn or Clausen. Game manager, ball security, whatever you want to call it, he can do that job at a NFL-level. I hope he thrives in Oakland.

I don’t buy the McNabb theory; he’s too old to be wasting a year sitting on the bench.

Or SF, for that matter.

Nope. Tom should take it. More wins 4 300+ games and a record of passes attempted without an INT. Vick is a force, but has had some bad games and did not play out the full season.
Of course I world rather another piece of hardware for number 12 than another MVP.

I completely agree; not to take anything away from Vick, but a guy whose team wins games without him is not an MVP. Offensive player of the year, that I could agree with, though.

So they postponed the Eagles game to Tuesday night. What a strange season.

They didn’t want the blizzard to hit during the game, and then have tens of thousands of people having to dig their way out of the parking lots, which would have been a nightmare.

This is like the third straight week for Vikings to have their game postponed or changed. Hah.

I love you, Danny Woodhead.

Hahaha the 49ers are so bad.

Argh! I need the niners to win to keep my dream of a 7-9 playoff team alive!

Well, it just became anyone’s fluke game.

Go, niners, Go!

This sucks for the Eagles, especially since the decision to have this on Tuesday was for TV reasons. Otherwise this game would be on Monday night. But you can’t have that when this is the Sunday Night Football game! Now the Eagles are going to have an extremely short week going into their final game against the Cowboys, and unlike the Vikings (who will also have a short week), the Eagles final game could actually have some importance for seeding.

I’d agree with that too.

This no INT streak with Brady is pretty crazy. In that odd Boston sport fan wiring, it makes me nervous…

Well it’s kind of a crappy metric since you can’t really compare to the Patriots’ performance without Brady this year. Pretty sure they’ve won a few games without him in the past, though.

I just misheard “the gunslinger, Philip Rivers” as “the godslayer, Philip Rivers” and I was suddenly thinking that would be the best bit of announcing hyperbole ever.

Are you suggesting Rivers is a Nietzschean?
