The NFLPA would go nuts, and it would kill the Redskins on the player acquisition front. It would essentially be burning a bridge that needn’t be burned, and Bruce Allen is well aware of it. The team is already going to have to undo some bad publicity in convincing black free agents to come play for the Shanahans next offseason. Sticking it to a guy as liked around the league as McNabb would be be suicidal.

I disagree with this analysis. The Skins have been the free agent money machine for years and years and years.

There is no bad publicity to overcome with the Skins, and certainly nothing related to Skin color.

McNabb signed the deal, one of the first team friendly deals in years - there’s little downside in making him honor it.

He so doesn’t get it. Had they went on with it, and had people been stuck for hours trying to get their cars out of the parking lot, I bet he would have been the first to complain. I think the league needed to be clearer on why the game was postponed.

I love the Gov. There was no need to postpone, and all it does is shine a brighter light on the shitty snow removal in this part of the country. We need more guys who do some calculus on the way to the stadium to help Nutter and the Gov figure that budget out!

Last night’s game was a good one. The defenses really stepped up against two really good offenses. Constant blitzing/pressure, good man to man coverage, etc. Lot of fun to watch. Almost assuredly seeing a preview of a playoff game.

Fantasy football really ruins the joy of watching the NFL. Instead of enjoying the slugfest last night, I was raging because I had Colston, Roddy White, and Matt Ryan all playing for me in the FF superbowl. I wanted a shootout, goddamit. When Colston’s touchdown was called back for a false start I almost blew my top.

Now I have to go up against Vick and McCoy tonight with only a 40 point lead. Vick covers that in 1 half. dogkillingbastard :(

Let it go, man. Fantasy football is something you use to get more involved and interested in all of the games (because you’re paying attention to more players). Don’t let it change your NFL fun. That was a really good game and really fun to watch.

I’ve found I enjoy fantasy football a lot more when I’m not obsessively watching my stats. I’ll just check the website later. Get lost in the moment and let it go. Save that for Monday when you look and go, “Why didn’t I start Jeremy Maclin?! Dammit!”

Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe had a day this week that could have won me my playoff game last week and gotten me to the finals, but I didn’t care since the Chiefs are going to the playoffs. You can’t get too invested in fantasy football; it’ll ruin your day.

This doesn’t apply when it’s someone ELSE’S fantasy football game. I remember Thanksgiving with the in-laws a few years back when Tony Romo dropped five TDs on the Buccaneers, and after every one of them, one brother-in-law would shout “AND HE’S ON MY BENCH!” while the other did a little victory jig.
