Glad we had one good game today after that earlier snoozer.
And oh, those Akers missed FGs. Just making one of those two would have made a huge difference.

Great game, opposite of last nights game, both of the teams deserved it. Packers are one of the teams that can actually challenge the Patriots. Not to say the Eagles weren’t, but that doesn’t matter anyway now. I’ll call it, Green Bay-New England Super Bowl.
The Falcons and Bears are better than you are crediting them being, Nawid.

The Falcons are the most complete team in the NFC, as their record shows. I loved seeing the Packers win today and it’s great because it should shut up the Rodgers haters, but they have major problems with offensive balance and will likely lose next week in Atlanta. They beat the Eagles because Philly was a fairly average team outside of Vick’s impact.

This is like the second or third time I’ve seen the Philly defense give up big plays in the first half and then shut down the offense in the second half. But they always seem to give up one big play too many and they lose.
In non-playoff news, one of the top three cornerbacks in the league will be suiting up in another uniform next year: Nnamdi Asomugha has been freed from Oakland.

In quite possibly the oddest performance failure I’ve ever seen (apparently because he’s so good, no one tossed near him so he has no stats to get his bonus extension).

See, this is what the 2011 NFL thread is for - stuff that will matter next season.

Lol, 12th Man Indeed!!!
When Marshawn Lynch broke that monster run the explosion of fan noise registered on seismographs
This shit right here is why I love football. That is awesome.

I can only imagine. We were cheering for the underdogs at our house and the whole room exploded on that play. It was so much fun to watch.

I was really surprised that the Seahawks beat the Saints. That division was so bad.
Less so that the Jets beat the Colts, but still surprised. Once again the universe proves there is no such thing as karma.
Yesterday’s games went as expected for me.
Next week:
Pats will roll the Jets.
Bears will roll the Seahawks.
Steelers/Ravens will be close, I go with Steelers.
Packers/Falcons, I go with Packers in a close one.
I don’t know about the Bears. Some games they’ve looked great, and some games they’ve been terrible.
Pats - Jets will be interesting. I doubt it will be as lopsided as the last time they played.
I think nobody actually believes in the Bears. But compared to the Seahawks? Well. Lightning doesn’t strike twice, and Cinderella teams don’t Cinderellize for long. And, um, other horrible metaphors.
I’d like the Seahawks’ chances if not for the calendar. Winning in Chicago in October is one thing. In January, that’s a whole different story. I think the forecast is for 15 degrees around game time, with a possible windchill in the single digits. That’s cold.
And possible snow. Bears weather.
That’s the primary reason I did the unthinkable for a Bears fan and rooted for Green Bay on Sunday – Seattle is less likely to adapt well to the weather than Philly. I’m a bit nervous about this game – not even Bears fans believe in them this year – but I don’t see a repeat of the earlier game against Seattle happening.
After that, though… well. I think I’m going to be pulling for Green Bay again this weekend. The dirty birds scare me.
The Bears appear to win with a combo of lucky breaks and opponents not taking them seriously enough. I can see them beating Seattle 10-7 with Cutler being sacked 17 times, but I can’t see them advancing to the Super Bowl

Didn’t the Bears just lose big to the Pats in that same kind of weather? I’m not saying that the Hawks are the Pats by any stretch, but the Bears played really bad.

The Bears don’t play better in snow, but a lot of teams play worse.
