You’d think that teams wouldn’t kick it to Devon Hester.

Luck doesn’t solve any of the problems the Rams have.

No, but what they could trade the #1 pick for probably would. ;-)

I just meant that right now they look like they could be the worst team in the league this year, not that drafting Luck should be the path they follow (though Luck would be cheaper if they could trade Bradford to someone else . . .)

Yeah, that’s not the problem. Rams have had some dreadful drafts (this year’s pick of Robert Quinn not looking great, either) and they just can’t make up the talent gap like that.

Rams needs heading into the 2011 draft and free agency season:

WR
CB
OLB
OG
S

(They drafted a DE in the first round, which is a strength on the team, and then drafted a TE in the second.)

Rams needs as of week 4 in the NFL:

WR
CB
OLB
OG

That’s just terrible personnel management.

The Bears ran their entire opening drive without attempting a pass. Martz was in full-on “smartest guy in the room” mode.

I hate Michael Vick. There have been many times in the game today that the Niners had a hold of him for a sack only for him to escape. The offense needs to pick it up, Alex Smith still looks average. I hope CK7 really is the future as they have a good defense but and offensive piece but the QB is just holding them back.

Witten!

Looks to me like today is the day that, for most of the defenses, they finally got over the post-strike lag. They’ve caught up to the offenses.

The Lions disagree. So far at least.

They didn’t have a lot of talent last year either, though, and still managed 7 wins. And as was discussed earlier in the week, they don’t have an early friendly schedule this year.

But at what point is the coaching a factor? Maybe the transition in offensive schemes is having an impact? You have an offense in St. Louis that is down 50% so far (compared to last year) in points per game scored and is giving up 12 more points a game on defense.

Meanwhile the Lions have started their typical second half comeback. I knew better than to make that post about their defense.

Where was this offense the first half? The Niners are finally making a game of it. Maybe they can win this game if their defense continues to stop Vick and the Eagles.

It’s a factor, as are injuries. I just don’t think McDaniel is smart enough to dial down an offense, as you’d need to do with the lockout.

Hmm, five sacks for the Texans. I suspect Big Ben is kind of tired of eating grass.

Calvin Johnson is a beast!

I know. I know.

Blaine Gabbert is looking awful in the second half.

Good god, it’s turning into Comeback Sunday on NFL Redzone. No lead is safe!

Roughing the passer this time. Two TD’s lost by the Texans on penalties.
