Kind of, and I got the QB wrong anyway. Too bad there’s no strikethrough on QT3. Look him up on Wikipedia for the whole story.
Actually I got everything wrong in a way so I deleted the post. The real confusion is over when and why QBs take over.
Kurt Warner took over for a non-injured Matt Leinart in Arizona for critical drives, then a split QB situation, then finally an injury. That’s about 75% non-injury replacement.
Joe Gibbs juggled Doug Williams and Jay Schroeder during the 1987 season in Washington. Williams started most of the season and won the Super Bowl.
I don’t believe Kerry Collins was injured when he was pulled after the Titans were 0-5 a few years ago, and a much more mature Vince Young led them to the edge of the playoffs.
Going way back, Earl Morral took over for an injured Johnny Unitas and took the Colts to the Superbowl, where they lost to the Jets.

And there ya go. Raiders only having 10 men on the field is just so Raiders this year. Stupid stupid mistakes. They are so fucking lucky. And this is consistently a coaching problem with the position coaches. These guys aren’t getting WRs covered and now they don’t send out enough guys to play. Looking at it, it appears they are missing a safety or a DB. What’s next, sending someone on the field who isn’t even in pads? Wouldn’t surprise me.

QB Vince Young referred to the team that way in an interview after they signed him.
That is correct. Also Eli manning took over for Warner on the Giants when they were 3-2 and they made the playoffs.
Niners sign former GB WR Brett Swain to take over for the injured Josh Morgan. The interesting part is that Swain beat out TJ Houshmanzedah, Chris Chambers, Brian Finneran and some other dudes.
Come on the 11th man was Al Davis.

Also Dilfer taking over for Tony Banks the year the Ravens won the Super Bowl. They were 5-3 with Banks, lost Dilfer’s first start, then reeled off 11 wins in a row (including the playoffs).
What moron puts a 112-year-old dead guy in their backfield? Bad coaching decision then.
No. Eli took over from Warner, who started 4-1, when their record was 5-4 and coach Coughlin thought it would be best to bite bullet and throw him in there to get the experience. He went 1-6, only winning on the final game of the year.
Eli in New York was pretty similar to Jay Cutler taking over for Jake Plummer Denver in midseason and the season tanking. In Eli’s defense, while he had a horrible season that year, Kurt Warner was sacked by a few ghosts.
Looks like the Seahawks are trading Curry to the Raiders. The Hawks get a 7th round pick in 2012 and a conditional mid-round pick in 2013. The Raiders get the #4 overall pick in the 2009 draft. Ouch.
Man, 7th round picks don’t even make the final roster a lot of the time. I guess the conditional pick is if Curry meets some performance milestones.
It’s not like taking Curry was a bad pick, either. He was high on everyone’s board.
Curry was supposed to be the most NFL-ready of all the picks. Everything I read back then pointed to him being the safest pick in the draft. I think everyone pointed at that pick and promised big returns for Seattle. At minimum, a solid starter. What a bizarre fall.

The Raiders LB McClain hurt his ankle and wasn’t all that great anyway. Maybe this new guy can help the Raiders stop the run, something they couldn’t do before last Sunday.
Oh they didn’t make the playoffs with him until the following year? My bad, I thought he made it as a rookie.
I was listening to the local radio today and they classified Curry as the biggest bust out of Seattle…ever.

I thought that was Chone Figgins, right Sarkus? Or was that Milton Bradley?:) As you have probably heard, the Raiders have revitalized sagging careers in the past and I’m sure they plan to do so again with Curry. We’ll just have to wait and see.
