The 49ers need a special Alex Smith-friendly football with a handle on it.

Redskins/Eagles! For a moment, at least, Sunday Ticket on the PS3 is working!

Accursed Grossman!

Rex being Rex, man.

Dumb announcer moment of the day: Rams 3rd and 11 on their opening drive, in long field goal range. They call a run, which goes for -3 yards.

Announcer: “I really like that call, you’ve got to play it safe and take the points here, on the road against this Green Bay team.”

(And of course they missed the 47-yard field goal, so not only did they just give up on their chance of a TD, it was hardly a sure three points either.)

I would be much happier if NFL Sunday Ticket didn’t freeze once every ten seconds.

Holy frack, that was an awesome run by Fred Jackson.

I see Green Bay is wearing their Notre Dame uniforms today.

What’s dumb about it? You’re on the road, you have a chance to get the first points of the day against a superior team and quiet the crowd. On 3rd and 11, where the league conversion rate is awful, there’s nothing wrong with a conservative running call to try and pick up a few extra yards for a FG attempt.

Man, Buffalo is fun to watch! BUFFALO!

How did Buffalo score their second TD? I’m presently watching the Eagles/Redskins game and haven’t noticed any highlights.

Third down quick slant to Roosevelt, he outran the entire defense for the TD. Gorgeous zone-eater play.

NFL Sunday Ticket is running on a 2-minute delay, apparently!

Because a long FG in the wind isn’t a gimme, 2-3 yards on the FG isn’t a huge deal, and completing a pass would be huge.

That unsportsmanlike conduct call on SF for challenging a TD that the refs looked like they weren’t going to review needs to be removed from the game.

Every scoring play is supposed to be reviewed, and that TD in particular obviously needed to be reviewed. So when it looks like the refs forget to send the call to the replay booth and the coach throws the challenge flag in desperation to remind them to do their job, you penalize the coach? It’s BS.

Well, AJ Hawk’s going to get fined for that one.

Except most of the time you’re not completing a pass for a first down there, and you run the risk of getting picked off or, as happens pretty commonly, taking a sack that knocks you out of FG range. At that down and distance and place on the field, there is zero wrong with running the ball and trying to get a few extra yards for a FG attempt.

As if to punctuate my point, as I say this, the Bills have a 3rd and 16 from the Giants 28 and they try to pass the ball. Good call, right? Fitzpatrick is sacked for a loss of 9 yards and they’re knocked completely out of FG range. Oops. Maybe running there isn’t so dumb after all.

What the heck was going on in that game to prompt Hawk’s salute?

He’d just sacked Bradford…but he’s flipping that bird to his own bench.

3 touchdowns, 230 yards for Rodgers in the first half.
