Mark Brunell actually had a very good year for us in 2005. It’s been pretty brutal historically at QB for the Skins. And I’d never call Theismann a very good QB. He was good enough, but the offensive line is what won for the Skins in the 80s. In fact, it’s really a credit to Gibbs and that line that they won 3 superbowls with 3 different QBs and 3 different RBs.

I think I’ve made it clear on this site, though, that I was a Jason Campbell supporter. The problem in Washington was never Campbell, it was his awful supporting cast, both in talent (Santana Moss and the Pips) and coaching (JC’s revolving door of celebrity coordinators).

It was both. I actually was a Campbell supporter for quite a while, but soured when it became clear that he just wasn’t developing well. Campbell never fixed his cruddy throwing motion, and still had issues with the deep ball. He also didn’t progress reading defenses as I would have hoped. But I fully acknowledge that having his head spin in circles thanks to the revolving door at OC and head coach didn’t help in the least either.

Philip Rivers has six children. I did not know this.

Some people (read that: crazy internet people) think he is having trouble adjusting to the birth of his sixth child, and that’s why he is having a bad season.

For real, how’s he going to feed that sixth mouth? 5, no problem, but 6?!

Somebody needs a Campbell’s Chunky Soup endorsement deal.

I hope the Rams move back to LA. The good people of St. Louis got a Superbowl win out of their rental - they should be satisfied. And then the Browns could move to replace them and resurrect the St. Louis Browns. And fuck over Cleveland again.

EWWWWwwww. Please Rams, stay where you are. You’ll be far more liked there than here, trust me. A lot of people in the LA/OC area hate the Rams because of the way they left.

So is he trying to outdo Antonio Cromatie now?

Cromartie’s problem was that his kids all had different moms. Don’t know if that’s the case for Rivers.

No that’s not the case with Rivers, they’re all with the same woman, his longtime sweetheart and wife. Still a lot of kids though, for a guy who hasn’t hit 30 yet.

In baseball you can find a place (MLB.com?) where stats are kept for pitchers who get the most runs scored for them per start. It is all luck of course and often will explain why so and so can suck and have such a good record.

People will get over it. Although, I’m the only person who still liked the Rams after they left, so what do I know? Who do most people in LA root for now? The Chargers?

Depends on who you talk to:). You’ll see a LOT more support for the Raiders here than the Chargers, but I would expect that the Chargers are more popular in Orange County than Los Angeles County. You never see any Rams stuff.

That Frontiere bitch drowned her husband, stole the Rams and took them to St. Louis. How could anyone still be a Ram fan?

I know plenty of Chargers and Raiders fans here in So Cal. I don’t think I know a single Rams fan.

Which is weird, now that I think about it, but also probably helps explain why they left in the first place.

My vote is for that guy who died in training camp.

Man, I hope they show this exciting game locally this weekend: John Skelton and the Cards face off against hated division rivals AJ Feeley and the Rams. The much anticipated “We finally have Two wins!” bowl is always exciting.

On the Vikings front, the governor and key GOP lawmakers have “promised” to make sure there is a special session and funding is passed to pay for a new stadium, apparently by taxing the crap out of new gambling ventures.

And Peyton Manning showed up in Indy today to tell everyone he’s not coming back yet since they still don’t know if the surgery worked. But apparently there is an opt-out for the team to cut him and not owe him any more money after this season built into his contract.

Edit: Damnit, only Arizona and Missouri get the Skelton/Feeley 19 STAR LOCK OF THE YEAR game. Bastards. ;-)

Too hard to figure out a new team to like. Kinda tried with the Chargers and Raiders but it didn’t stick. And Detroit was never good enough after Barry left to function as the only team I rooted for.

There are still Rams fans in LA. They are on the local paper’s message board a lot.

There’s a chance Bradford is going to start Sunday.

I’m just saying you don’t see them. You don’t see Rams jerseys, you don’t see Rams license plate holders and I know of no Rams fans personally. You see a lot of Raiders license plate holders, and a reasonable number of jerseys. Not much for Chargers here in Pasadena, but I’m a long way from San Diego:).

I’m sure they exist, but as someone who moved here 12 years ago, I just realized that I’ve seen plenty of people wearing random Raiders and Chargers gear over the years, but I’ve never once seen anything connected to the Rams. I can’t even remember seeing any Rams stuff hanging up in a bar anywhere. Considering they moved in 1994, it actually seems kind of bizarre. It’s like they never existed in So Cal to begin with.
