The Steelers-Ravens Matchup is the highlight of the regular season for this steeler fan. This matchup exemplifies every thing I enjoy about football. Highly competitive, extremely physical, and defense is a focal point. An interview with Harbaugh from http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d823bfb30/article/ravens-steelers-go-to-dark-place-to-ignite-fierce-rivalry?module=HP11_cp
sums it up nicely

A lot of horrible things have happened to Detroit. Why is the NFL inflicting NICKELBACK on us? Friends don’t let friends have Nickelback play their halftime show.

Can’t wait. I’m not one to dislike a fan base, but boy, do the Steelers get under my skin. Going to be a rough Monday morning (hopefully more so for the Steelers).

I have become a Raiders fan, sort of. It may be easier now that Al Davis has finally given up control of the team.

Talk about Madden cover curses . . .

I wonder who Peyton Hillis will be playing for next year. Or possibly later this year.

Alex Smith sandwich! Oh my.

At this moment, I’m pretty sure that even if San Francisco took a knee on every offensive play of this game, the Redskins would still find a way to lose solely on turnovers. They look LOST.

Woot! Seattle made it through the first quarter in Dallas and its not a blowout!

Small victories. ;-)

What the hell was that fake field goal call in the KC-Dolphins game supposed to be?

I didn’t see the play – was it an actual fake or did they just botch the snap?

One of two things is going to happen today: The Dolphins are going to hold on for their first win, or they’re going to blow another 14-3 lead and Sparano will finally get put out of his misery.

(and Miami puts together two long plays and scores a TD, and are about to go up 21-3)

And 28-3. It’s going to take a spectacular effort to screw this up.

Maybe Kansas can fly Tebow in by the fourth.

It’s absolutely crazy that the Chiefs are going down like that. Talk about a sudden reversion to crap.

This seems to be the introduction of Miami’s new “Fuck it” offence. Just throw the ball deep every other down and see what happens.

Miami will just run the ball the rest of the day at this point. It’s more self-preservation on Sparano’s part at this point. They’re not going to do anything even remotely risky that will give the Chiefs a chance to come back.

My buddy is a Chiefs fan, and he says (only half joking) that they are likely starting practice squad DB’s at the moment. Their secondary has been riddled with injuries, and apparently Miami is just pouring salt in that wound.

~C~

Well, the story of this game has been the passing protection. Matt Moore has had all day to throw, and Matt Cassel has been sacked 5 times. Miami just stopped KC inside the 5, and now they’re really just running the clock out.

For the first time this year Sparano can probably legitimately fist-pump a field goal.

31-3 with 8 to play. I guess Jones or Barkley will have to do.

I think Miami’s still one of the favorites for the first pick. Their schedule the rest of the year is brutal, and I’d be surprised if they get more than one win the rest of the way.

The real question is, will the Colts win 2 games? I think they’ll probably split their 2 games with Jacksonville, and then it’s a question of whether they can get another win against Carolina or Tennessee or a fluke win against the tougher part of their schedule.

I still think the idea of the Rams being in the hunt is pretty laughable. Their schedule is so soft they might end up with 4 or 5 wins.

Well, they host the Redskins next week…

So does Rex get the start next week against Miami? The Beck experiment is clearly a dud.
