They don’t show us the 22 shot because they are…afraid we’ll catch on to how dumb players and coaches can be? They are protecting the product by…obfuscating the product?

Weak.

And what’s really stupid is that fans at the game see the entire field. It’s not like it’s a mystery.

While that’s true, the reality is that most fans just follow the ball through the play anyway. The all22 angle is basically what the teams use to evalute the game as it happens and afterwards, so its really more what the “hardcore” fan would care about then anything else.

But who knows what the NFL is thinking in restricting it. A big issue this year has been their insistence that either the center or a guard be mic’d all the time and that is angering players, but for some reason the league is making a big deal out of enforcing it. So their thinking isn’t always clear.

Haynesworth suprisingly claimed - by Tampa.

They did just shut McCoy down for the year.

Not that surprising, guys with that much potential upside will get a lot of second chances.

The surprise is not that someone was willing to give him another chance, its that he was claimed. Meaning that Tampa just took over the contract he had in New England.

Wasn’t a big contract. Redskins already paid for him. If Tampa though some else was interested, it makes sense.

There are incentives in the contract, though, one of which is an extra $1m for just being involved in 20% of the snaps in the season. So while that isn’t huge money by NFL terms, you don’t need that for a guy you are taking a chance on. There are other incentives as well that could be met, adding millions more.

The Patriots cut him, in part, because they didn’t want to have to pay him once it became clear what little he was contributing to them. Tampa is now taking that on when they probably didn’t have to.

That’s really not a lot of money in the larger view. If Tampa wanted him and though some other team did as well, $1 mil is not worth sweating.

I bet Tampa would be thrilled to pay out those incentives, because it would mean Haynesworth was actually contributing.

Looks like McFadden is out for tomorrow nights Raiders/Chargers game. Which is good for the Chargers since when McFadden doesn’t play the Raiders lose at home against teams like the Broncos and Chiefs. So a road game against another divisional foe seems like it would be even more of a problem.

Meanwhile, Jerry Jones has decided that DeMarco Murray might be the next Eric Dickerson. What a judge of talent Mr. Jones is. But I do have to ask, what about that first round running back you took a few years ago Jerry? How does he fit in with DeMarco “the next Dickerson” Murray?

Also, what is the story with the Rams benching their big money center and arguably best offensive lineman? Is this the proof that the coach is starting to lose his team? Even the St. Louis beat writers don’t understand this move.

Finally, with the Seahawks in “Suck for MattBarkley/LandryJones” mode, I need to find a new team to follow for the rest of the year. Is their room on the Lions bandwagon? How about the Bills, a team I followed pretty faithfully back in the early '90s?

Michael Bush ran for 99 yards two weeks ago and 90 yards on Sunday so the running game shouldn’t be an issue. The rest of the team? Who the hell knows.

Bush has done a good job, but it seems something is missing with McFadden out.

No love for RG3 err Robert Griffin III out of Baylor? He’ll probably go in the first round too with all the teams looking for a top end quarterback out of the draft.

You can join the Niners bandwagon, there’s still room even though you’re a SeaChickens fan. I still think of them more as an AFC West than NFC West team so it’s all good. You can even scout Alex Smith for the Seahawks as your quarterback of the future, signing him away to destroy the foundation of the new 49ers team.

Uhh, no. I don’t hate the 49ers, but I can’t root for them most of the time either.

I’m inclining towards the Bills and their new retro-cool white helmets.

You should root for the Lions. They’re from Detroit, this is all they have.

I hate the 49ers, so I’ll be double rooting against them this weekend.

Jerreh being Jerreh aside, Felix Jones, while showing sparks of being great (and, when healthy, can be pretty good even now), just hasn’t been durable enough as an every-down NFL running back.

Felix is much like Sproles or Bush, a great compliment/changeup back that you really want on your team, but can’t carry the team on their own. imho.
