What does “track meet” mean in this sentence? (It was re the Packers-Chargers game).

Typically when one describes a football game as a track meet, they are referring to a game that’s very high scoring and offensively dominated. If two teams are running up and down the fields scoring on each other quickly, it’s more of a track meet than a football match.

Tampa was the only team to put in a claim on him.

Me too. I’d pay good money for that.
But I wonder why they don’t sell it… Increased criticism? Really?

Aha, thanks.

I agree. Felix is at his best when someone else (Marion Barber or currently Murray) is doing the bulk of the carries.

Yeah, that’s what I ment by the comment. I was not expecting two pick-6’s by Philip Rivers though.

Also I’m not sure about the Bills for the rest of the season anyway.

Wait, you can’t have pass interference against the “widest” (furthest to the outside) receiver when a team is in punt formation?

You learn something new every day. Because Jammer totally mugged that guy on the fake punt throw.

Well that’ll be the last fake punt we’ll see for a while if you can just knock down the receivers.

Pretty much, if you can mug the receivers all day long then fake punts are damn near useless.

I agree that it’s a weird rule, but I don’t think it’s the end of fake punts. If the fake works properly, there won’t be a guy in coverage. When the announcing crew is talking about expecting a fake, you might as well just line up with your regular offense.

Yeah, if nothing else, I thought that was an atrocious playcall. You’re pushing the Chargers off the ball on every snap, so 4th and 1 is more than doable. If you’re feeling conservative, you’re well within Seabass’ range at the 34. And you go with a fake punt? Awful, awful call.

And as we just saw, the “just keep handing it to Bush” strategy works just fine without getting fancy. Hue Jackson needs to not think so much.

Like I said, not much. Trade speed for power.

Seabass can barely kick. They are trying to save him. He has a bad hammy.

Ah, I had no idea he was hurt. How long has that been going on?

He hurt it in practice before the KC game, which he didn’t play in and it’s been bad ever since.

That’s one of the best catches you’ll see this year.

Can’t believe this is the same Raider defense from last week. Wow. I’m very interested to see if they can sustain it for an entire game.

Not only am I pretty sure that I’d fire Norv Turner if the Chargers don’t make the playoffs this season, I might fire him after this game if they lose.

This team perpetually looks unprepared to play, and this is a season where the AFC is totally up for grabs. If I thought there was someone on my staff who might be able to kick the team into gear for a playoff run, I’d give it serious thought.

Are all of the Thursday Night Football game going to be streamed on the league website, or just this one?

I’m no longer sure they’re even streaming this one, or if it’s all talking heads, all the time.
