Typically when one describes a football game as a track meet, they are referring to a game that’s very high scoring and offensively dominated. If two teams are running up and down the fields scoring on each other quickly, it’s more of a track meet than a football match.

I’d love to see something like this because you could really see the defense at work and see the routes the receivers were running. The NFL is afraid it would open up the players and coaches to too much fan criticism. They have floated the idea of charging $100 a year to see it.

Me too. I’d pay good money for that.
But I wonder why they don’t sell it… Increased criticism? Really?

Felix is much like Sproles or Bush, a great compliment/changeup back that you really want on your team, but can’t carry the team on their own. imho.

I agree. Felix is at his best when someone else (Marion Barber or currently Murray) is doing the bulk of the carries.

I agree that it’s a weird rule, but I don’t think it’s the end of fake punts. If the fake works properly, there won’t be a guy in coverage. When the announcing crew is talking about expecting a fake, you might as well just line up with your regular offense.

Yeah, if nothing else, I thought that was an atrocious playcall. You’re pushing the Chargers off the ball on every snap, so 4th and 1 is more than doable. If you’re feeling conservative, you’re well within Seabass’ range at the 34. And you go with a fake punt? Awful, awful call.

And as we just saw, the “just keep handing it to Bush” strategy works just fine without getting fancy. Hue Jackson needs to not think so much.

Not only am I pretty sure that I’d fire Norv Turner if the Chargers don’t make the playoffs this season, I might fire him after this game if they lose.

This team perpetually looks unprepared to play, and this is a season where the AFC is totally up for grabs. If I thought there was someone on my staff who might be able to kick the team into gear for a playoff run, I’d give it serious thought.

I’m no longer sure they’re even streaming this one, or if it’s all talking heads, all the time.
