Yeah, I don’t think anyone recommends going for that one. If you succeed, it’s first down on your 30 yard line. If you fail, you lose the game. Even if you think you’ve got an 80% chance of making it, that’s a crazy call.
By the power of the Lord Jesus, bra.

It’s pretty obvious what the Giants defensive strategy is in this game:
Frank Gore, we’re throwing the kitchen sink at stopping you. Alex Smith, take your best shot.
Not true. I live up around Philly, and since they’ve been hiring all that high priced talent, they’ve been all about how this team is going to win a Superbowl, which is why it’s been so delicious to see the fans’ expectations get crushed.
Eagles fans are so bipolar. They win (against Washington, no less), and the sports radio is all about SUPERBOWL BABY. After the Bears loss, they were calling for Andy Reid’s head. After this…well…SEASON OVER.
I can’t wait for next week and to hear the local sports radio. I’m not normally someone who takes enjoyment in the pain and sadness of others but next week, I will enjoy a very large helping of schadenfreude.
Seriously, didn’t anyone learn from Dan Snyder and the Redskins? You cannot buy a team in the NFL. It just doesn’t work.
Lol 12 point lead for the Seachickens, and the announcer just said Seattle with the biggest lead of the season. Seriously?

For those of you not following the other thread, the outcome of the Qt3 Suicide League currently rides on the outcome of the Seattle/Baltimore game.
Two of us had Philly and lost, so now Fishbreath can win the league outright if the Ravens can rally in the second half.

Yep. Going for it typically only makes sense if it gives you 2 shots at the win. Such as making it runs out the clock, but failing still leaves the other team work to do. This case was stupid. Making it doesn’t win AND puts the other team in immediate winning position. It’s exactly when you don’t go for it.

There were a lot of terrible calls in that game, going both ways. If that incidental arm hook is what passes for holding then we might as well just start playing flag football.
This game may have been there most winnable, but it still doesn’t really qualify as winnable for the Colts. The Jags’ defense ranks somewhere in the top five to ten, depending on the metric. Football Outsiders ranks them 6th defensively, 32nd offensively versus 32nd defensively and 25th offensively for the Colts. “Most winnable” for the Colts is more accurately put as “least loseable”.
Man, when did Stafford start cashing Chicago’s checks, cause, daaaaaaamn.
He looks absolutely terrible.
Huge fight in the Bears Lions game which appeared to start with Stafford throwing a guy to the ground by his helmet. This is what, the third week in a row there have been skirmishes in Lions games.
I don’t know why I thought the Lions would be good this year. THEY’RE THE LIONS. Man, I need to just remember that.
…which caused the best line of the day by a commentator: “The NFL will be able to operate a hedge fund after all of the fines in this game”.

Another win by the Niners. The Giants nearly came back too, with two fourth and long conversions. It’s a good time to be a 49ers fan after a decade of misery.
Ha ha. Seachickens. That’s comedy gold, dude.

Some amazing running plays, and the fact that one of the 2 tosses was a 56 yard bomb TD.
I really hope that Denver can build a team around the Tebow offense, because a QB throwing 2 passes in a game with the team winning (and in the lead the entire game) is new and interesting.
For Seattle I am sure it was.

And three of those were upsets! What a crazy week.
