When he professes his opinion separately from criticizing anything I say, I don’t have an issue. I’m tired though of him constantly retorting what I’m saying.

Yes, Sanchez is improving from season to season but he’s probably the next Alex Smith. Somebody who might develop into a good game manager but he doesn’t appear like he’ll be a top end quarterback anytime soon. At least he wasn’t a number 1 pick like Smith was, instead he’s the quarterback and suppose leader of a New York team which probably puts him under more of the spotlight than Smith ever was.
Sanchez doesn’t seem to step up and win games.
Here’s a scenario: Say next year the Colts win the Suck for Luck lottery and draft him and Peyton wants out to a team ready to win. Would the Jets go for Peyton Manning? It’s possible the Colts might just cut him if they have to sign a #1 overall and they go with Luck.
I looked at the box score at Yahoo sports, for ‘top performer’ they had Tebow listed at 2-8 for 69 yards and a td in passing.
That won a game? In the NFL? During the regular, not pre, season? And the other team allowed that at home?
Holy Jebus! But it’s good for a 102.6 passer rating, lol. How do they compute those things anyways?
I notice they racked up a lot of rushing yards and third down conversions though. So it’s not as bad as it looks…I guess.

I’m not picking on anyone (nor do I see this “pattern” that you seem to be referring to - please elaborate), I’m simply responding to statements that I disagree with. You called Sanchez out and I pointed out that the stats show a guy who is improving from year to year. Sometimes QBs come into the league and excel from the start, but most of the time it takes awhile for them to come into their own. Declaring Sanchez a failure at this point is premature. And he’s certainly no Alex Smith.
No, because Manning will never start another NFL game.

I can’t figure Sanchez out, myself. He doesn’t look uncomfortable back there, but he doesn’t look entirely at ease, either. Sometimes he makes positively awful throws, and then he throws spectacular passes that make you say, wow, you can’t teach that. And you never seem to know when the good Sanchez or the ho-hum version is going to show up. You’ll get a typical 17/30 for 220 yards but no idea if he’s going to make big first down throws when he needs to.

I really don’t see Manning playing again. He’s my favorite player ever, but that surgery is insane.
And the crazy thing is you get both Sanchezes in the same game.
He does seem to have a bit of a low football IQ at times. His calling TO instead of bleeding clock is an example. Sometimes he seems befuddled by defenses. He’ll probably continue to get better over time, but I think it will be tiny bits of better. Maybe every season through experience he’ll eliminate a bad play or two per game. That kind of better.
Sadly, Jason Campbell was drafted in the first round.
The pick after Aaron Rodgers…

The Redskins probably wish they took Rodgers as the #9 pick instead of waiting to take Campbell #25 overall now. Looking back at that draft, the 49ers now have 3 of the top 9 picks from that year: Alex Smith, Braylon Edwards, and Carlos Rogers.

Should have said “not a top ten pick” like I meant. Some of Sanchez’s decisions on the field seem crazy to me, not just the ones that lead to INT’s. And just so it’s clear, I generally cheer for USC QB’s (except Leinart). These QB’s meant a lot to LA, a place with no NFL team.
Some early year QB’s don’t have good players/coaches around them like Bradford or McCoy and so you can’t really evaluate them. Sanchez seems to have better players and coaches, so his failures become magnified in my mind.
From The Pitch, KC’s free weekly paper:
From the Book of Arrowhead, Chapter 9: Verse 17.10.
And lo, the Chiefs took away two running backs from Tim Tebow and he was angered greatly.
And he rose up with polite indignation and he continued to bravely hand off the football.
And the Chiefs continued to be surprised that the Broncos would run on 55 of the 63 plays they ran in the game.
And the fans did cheer only when one of the paper airplanes, made from placards used in a stadium-wide celebration of veterans, almost reached the field from the stands.
And so on 3rd and 11, the safety was thus beaten by Eric Decker and mighty Tim Tebow did throw a rainbow. And for once, it was not underthrown. And the fans did leave to beat the traffic.
And Jonathan Baldwin did catch a ball around the back of a defender and thus, it was called back when the Chiefs lined up illegally.
And Dwayne Bowe did refuse to catch passes that hit his hands.
And coach John Fox did work Tim Tebow’s left arm for six days, but on the seventh day he rested it.
Yes, even we mock our hapless Chiefs.
That’s excellent.
2 for 8 and the win. Have you ever heard of something so absurd?
Yes, that performance earning him 23 points on my fantasy team.
Well, the bench of my fantasy team.
Sarkus, when you’re in your 3rd year and your completion percentage career high is 54.8%, it’s not a high bar to meet. It’s not like he’s throwing the ball down the field that much either. His YPA is 7.0, which ties him for 17th out of the top 33 QBs. His 56.7% completion percentage ranks him 29th out of 33. Those stats pretty well stink for a 3rd year QB. He’s had 40 starts in the NFL…he should pretty well get it by now.
After watching March Sanchez’s performance last night, I’m about ready to write the Jets off until they get a real QB. Sanchez’s throws are consistently low/high/behind/ahead of his WRs and he doesn’t seem able to really place the ball. His INTs last night were entirely just bad throws. Not because he missed the defender or was under a severe rush, but simply bad throws. At this point he looks like the weak link in that offense. If you can shut down the Jets running game and force Sanchez to pass, you have a good shot of shutting down their offense because he’s just not accurate enough to consistently move the ball through the air.

The amusing thing is that Sanchez will probably get another opportunity to do this year what he’s done the last two years: win playoff games on the road. The Pats will likely win the East (they have a crazy easy schedule and the tiebreaker against the Jets), but the Ravens and Jets are probably the favorites for the wild card spots now. And if the Jets end up playing, say, the Texans or Raiders in the first round, there’s no reason they can’t win that game.
The old Dolphins when they had Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris might throw the ball all of 15 times in a game, but Bob Griese was a good QB and he’d complete about 10 of those.
It was a different NFL then, too. Teams ran a lot more than they do now.
I’d have to think defenses will scheme against Tebow and take away the run, forcing him to beat them with his arm. What he’s doing is a novelty now but there’s a couple of games of tape on him now.
One thought I had was why not bring in Orton on third and long? He’s a better passer. If you’re going against convention anyway why not try a two QB system?
We said all the same things about Mike Vick when he started. I think Tebow will improve, but they have to stick with him.
Hopefully Tebow won’t start a professional dog torturing company on the side like Vick did. Other than that, I hope he develops on the same path as Vick and has a good career.
