Eli is channeling Tebow, can a Giants come from behind victory on a last minute drive be far off?
I turned it off after those two picks. I knew that was the highlight for the Rams.
Seattle either has a very good defense or the Rams offense is terrible.

This is what you get when you drop a 320-pound lineman into coverage! Big guy’s got some moves! They should call it Beef Mode!
The best part isn’t shown in that gif. Half the defense mobbed the guy on the ground and you could hear them all laughing their asses off.
Cutler out 6-8 weeks with broken thumb.
Man Nnamdi asomugha looked like a rookie on that TD pass. If I’m an Eagles fan I’m wondering WTF was all that money spent on him for. He certainly hasn’t earned his money so far.
Eli is no Tim Tebow, that’s for sure. He even got to start his final drive 3 or 4 yards closer to scoring and look what happens!
I guess Eli’s only clutch against the Pats.

Man, the entire NFC East has a split personality this year. You never know which version of each team will show up.

No, but Vince Young kinda is. He looked horrible most of the game and then leads one, tremendous 18-play drive right at the end to win it.
The front page of nfl.com is sorta funny if you look at it quickly:

I’m just looking at the NFC East standings and smiling.

It’s questionable whether the pass would’ve been going forward even if he wasn’t hit. Truly bizarre. And the way Pereira always takes the side that the officials are correct is annoying. I understand that’s his role, but he needed to man up there and admit that they blew the call. Some things are too complicated for a layman to fully understand. A forward pass is not one of them. It’s right there in the name.
Pereira’s not an NFL official anymore; he works for Fox. I’ve seen him disagree with the officials.

Whatever is wrong with the Raiders defense, I don’t think he’s missed much, particularly as Stoutt has gotten better over the season. Nnamdi hasn’t shown much on the Eagles. For one thing, he no longer can rely just on reputation as he did while playing against the AFC West.

It’s questionable whether the pass would go forward if he wasn’t hit? Only if Alex Smith is a total idiot and decided to waste a down. It was clear that was a forward pass and it would’ve been if he wasn’t hit. The rule has always been if the QB is in a forward throwing motion it’ll be an incomplete pass which was what happened.

I’ve heard it has a lot to do with switching sides, and being used differently. Not sure whether I buy that, because coverage is coverage. It could be that he hasn’t been thrown at for so long that he’s lost a step and nobody noticed till now. Now that he’s playing opposite Samuel, teams are forced to throw at him so they’ve been studying him and figured out how to pick on him.

He was throwing to a guy about even with him, it could’ve been a lateral pass depending on where he put it. Regardless, he did throw it backward so it should be ruled a lateral. The ball never went forward, nor was the ball touched by a defender to alter its direction.
However, I think the next play was when the announcers jynxed him and he threw an interception in the endzone, so it’s kind of moot. And besides, the game was all about the defense, who forced five turnovers plus a turnover on downs, and aside from one perfectly thrown pass were able to take Fitzgerald out of the game. I loved the quote from defensive coordinator Vic Fangio that Skelton just locks in on Fitzgerald all game, so there’s no point trying to disguise the defense to confuse him because he wouldn’t notice anyway.
I really hope Goldson doesn’t get suspended, because we need everybody to beat the Ravens.

He had the forward throwing motion which makes it a forward pass in the eyes of NFL officials. Now if they called it a fumble I think I can agree with that since he probably held onto the ball a split-second too long and which is what caused it to go backwards. But yea, it’s a moot point.
I want to believe in Alex, I really do but there were just so many missed opportunities in the first half. Against better teams those chances won’t come again and will kill you if you don’t capitalize on them.
The Harbaugh Bowl should be fun. I’m confident that the Niners will pull it out. And maybe it can finally put to rest once and for all the legitimacy of this Niners team.
