Hey Ndamukong – when 90% of the fans voting in a Detroit Free Press poll think you should be suspended for at least a game (and 66% think more than one), that’s a fucking hint. Or maybe Lions fans aren’t your “real” fans.

Also: two guesses who Haynesworth’s defensive coordinator was back when he stomped that guy’s head. I hope that’s just coincidence.

I’d say 2 games is definitely the over/under bet here. I’d think it’d be more than one (because of his unapologetic dirty nature) but not likely as many as the 5 game suspension Haynesworth received since the player Suh stomped on wasn’t really hurt. I’d like a 3 game suspension to send a message.

This was the first time I’ve seen the Niners play this year. I knew they were for real – you can’t fake 9-1 – but I didn’t know how solid they were. They have a Superbowl defense.

They probably need a better QB and something else on offense – Crabtree looks decent but he doesn’t look like he scares defenses.

No question that defense is elite. First in many important categories and only one game with a 100 yard rusher and no games with a rushing TD allowed. They even did their job tonight, keeping Ray Rice mostly in check and only allowing 16 points on the road. I like that the defense never gave up.

Can’t argue that, really. Alex is playing really well this season but the Niners do not have much in the way of an offensive spark.

I am certainly not shocked they lost but boy did they blow it on the game’s biggest plays. An awesome TD catch and run by Ginn negated on a needless chop block. A sweet INT that ended up as PI because the CB didn’t just play the ball and chose to arm-bar Torrey Smith. And I have no idea why Jim Harbaugh likes to call such risky plays at the end of the first half. They gave away a field goal on that needless end zone bomb that was intercepted because this may shock people but Braylon Edwards is no deep threat.

Recovering from food/football coma!

The Suh thing was a joke. Whoever he’s getting his advice from, he needs to dump em. He’s going to get crucified over the next few days, because it’s obvious to anyone who watched that replay that he wasn’t “trying to regain his balance.”

Dare I say, the Dolphins actually put forth an effort to be proud of today. After bungling the end of the first half with the fumble and TD, they actually showed resiliency in cutting the lead to 10-9 and then actually scoring that TD to go up 16-10. And when the Cowboys scored their TD to go ahead, there were like 5 plays on that drive where they had Romo dead to rights, and he somehow got the ball away time after time, and then Miami still managed to come back and take a 19-17 lead. That’s something they haven’t done once this year, so even though it was fairly predictable that they’d lose on a FG at the gun, it was a nice effort to see.

The Ravens pass rush is terrifying. Why don’t they play like that every week?

Stay classy Suh.

My biggest issue is that it certainly appeared to me in the replays like Suh was pounding the guys head into the ground before he was pulled off. Barring there being some rather significant action on the part of the Packer player that preceeded what was shown, I think Suh is deserving of a suspension. But its not going to surprise me if its only one game. Multi-game suspensions are not necessarily the most obvious next step after three or four fines. A single game suspension is the next logical step in escalating the punishment for Suh unless the league feels Suh’s actions were so egregious that he needs to be made an example of.

I think two games is appropriate but I may be bias because I want him present in the Oakland bloodbath.

Fines are for stuff that happens during a play (helmet to helmet hit, etc) – of which he’s already had several. The stomp was a dead ball foul, well after the play, and blatant as hell to boot.

I really hope that a) they crack down hard, and b) he gets the message through his thick skull, because I don’t like rooting for a team with guys who pull shit like that.

It doesn’t help that he had no time to complete a pass when either Gore or Hunter were sent out of the backfield. Even when they were back blocking, Baltimore had extremely good coverage.

I think he’ll get the rest of the year off including playoffs. You just can’t pull that shit on a holiday game after just having a sit-down with the commish over your behavior.

This wasn’t as bad as the Haynesworth stomp, which was awful. That being said, it still was egregious and on national TV. One game seems reasonable, but I can’t help but think that while the Haynesworth stomp occurred under Tagliabue, who was fairly lenient, Goodell is not, and may want to make an example of this…

I think you mean they’ve only given up 100 yards rushing once. They haven’t allowed an individual player to rush for 100 yards in 33 games and counting.

I think the biggest problem in the game was the injury to Adam Snieder. Just like at the beginning of the season, when Snieder is in the OL plays well, when Chilo Rachal is in the entire line goes to crap. Chilo should be cut outright, today, and they should give Boone a try at guard. When he subbed for Davis last week there was no obvious drop-off. After the season, we need to draft or sign a guard.

Regarding Suh, I don’t get why everybody is focusing on the stomp/kick. He was holding a guy down and slamming his head into the turf. Is that part of the game, but stepping on a guy’s arm is over the line? I’d give him at least three games, maybe more for being a repeat offender and refusing to admit fault.

I think the answer is basically “yeah.” There’s pretty much always little mini-scuffles in those piles, when dudes are locked up and one dude’s trying to get away while the other’s holding on.

As for the kick thing, it was pretty egregious, but an earlier Packer game had an even more egregious kick by an opponent, and that dude didn’t get kicked out or suspended. It seemed like the refs were very quick with the ejections in this game.

I’m sure the players get away with a lot of stuff in a scrum. Conrad Dobler of the old St. Louis Cardinals was known for biting players. I don’t even think it was an anger issue with him – it was just him playing head games and wanting to wear the black cape and twirl his moustache and inject some fear into the defensive players.

Thing about Suh is it wasn’t even a kick. It was a stomp. It looks even worse for some reason. I think I’d rather have a 300 pound guy kick me than stomp on me.

What is really going to get him suspended and possibly lengthen the suspension, I think, is how unrepentant he was. When he tries to say he did nothing wrong he needs some kind of slap in the head to wake him up to the situation.

I didn’t get why Patrick Lee got penalized and kicked out of the game. It seemed like the two Lions he was scuffling with were giving back as much as they were taking.

I concur with this. Snyder going down and Bruce Miller being out just shows how bad Chilo and Moran are. They both need to be cut. Give the spot to a guy on the practice squad, see what they have. Maybe they’ll dazzle Harbaugh and if not, they could easily draft or sign a guy in the offseason.

Even though the Niners loss, and Alex Smith looked pretty terrible mainly because he was running for his life all game long. This game probably gave me the most confident about Alex Smith. As much as Harbaugh keeps telling the media Alex Smith is elite, it’s just not true. But it was nice to see Alex throw some really deep balls there. I didn’t know if he still had it in him or not. Now if only if we can avoid penalties and have the receivers make the catches on those key plays.

Yay! You know what happened was I confused Roy Helu’s receiving yards (105) with his rushing yards (41).

Yep. SF has a much better chance with Snyder in. It’s a damned shame that the game was still within SF’s grasp but for a couple of bad plays.

No, it’s definitely the whole package there in terms of what he did.

There is no QB elite enough to get much done with the jailbreak the Ravens’ pass rush turned into in the second half. It reminded me of the wild card game between the Patriots and Ravens in 2009 that the Ravens won 33-14.

My only criticism aside from how much Rachal sucks is Jim needs to stop being so aggressive (to the point that it borders on foolish) at the end of the first half. In this game the Niners have FG position but they call an end zone shot to a Edwards, which is picked off. Edwards sucks, a big lummox like him is supposed to break inside and put his body between the ball and defender, but he thinks he’s Randy fucking Moss so he breaks to the outside. Jim has gone for it on 4th down in FG range in a few earlier games. It’s OK Jim, it’s not being cowardly to get the FG and let the defense do its thing.
