KC won’t get another Haley type. I don’t know who they’ll get – I’d love to see a Tomlin-type make it to KC, but I don’t immediately know who that is. Expect a Kansas City Star columnist to wish for Bill Cowher tomorrow morning, Thursday at the latest, since Cowher got a cup of coffee here once.

Besides that GM Scott Pioli (supposedly) hates Haley?

I’d say it’s the way they lost. They’ve got 8 losses and will miss the playoffs, but that might be ok for a team with injury issues. However, they’ve been blown out in 6 of those losses by a whopping 27 points or more. That’s just embarrassing…and you don’t keep your job if your team keeps getting embarrassed.

Charlie Weis can’t coach the Chiefs because we’d have to reinforce the sidelines at Arrowhead to accommodate his sail barge. I mean, “Rascal scooter”.

Jerreh is not pleased. If the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs, I would not be surprised to see Garrett and/or Fat Lebowski gone.

Any bets on the next coach to be fired? I have Raheem Morris…something like 7 straight losses, many of them blowouts.

Also, he is the coach at Kansas University.

Good! Get him as far away from real football as possible. The turd.

You can also add other teams to the list. The list of teams potentially looking for a new head coach could include:

Jacksonville (already open)
Kansas City (already open)
St. Louis
Dallas
Miami (dead man walking)
Tampa (trainwreck)
Minnesota
San Diego (dead man walking)
Indianapolis
New York Giants (though last nights win improves Coughlin’s chances of staying)
Washington (the always mercurial Snyder)

I don’t see MN looking for a new coach this year, the failure of McNabb is a big part of what killed this season so I think they give the coach at least one more year with a full training camp with Ponder as the #1 QB.

I bet the Giants keep Coughlin around providing they make the playoffs, which they very well might. Otherwise, yeah.

That’s what I would think, but you have to keep in mind that there is a chance one way or the other that they will have their stadium situation resolved soon and at that point starting over with a new coach might make the most sense. Especially since supposedly Frazier pushed the acquisition of McNabb over other reservations within the organization.

I put them on the list because if they end up not making the playoffs I don’t see how he survives. Right now they are in pretty good shape, but that division is pretty inconsistent across the board so a Giants late collapse isn’t out of the question.

I’d add Andy Reid to that list. I’d say there’s a good chance he may go.

I think they give him one more year. He’s gonna need a new DC though, and that might not be his pick to make.

Maybe these Sunday stats assisted in Haley’s departure:

KC’s total yards in the first half: 4

Distance Ryan Succop’s onside kick traveled: 3.5

Sarkus were you being nice in not mentioning Jackson? If so, it’s ok you can put him on the list too, even if it is 99% my wishful thinking.

Andy Reid would not be out of a job for long. There are a lot of owners who would love to have someone with his track record.

I don’t see Synder getting rid of Shanahan yet unless he could get someone like Cowher. Same goes for Dallas. Jones would go for Cowher but short of someone of his stature I think he gives Garret another year. The Cowboys may yet make the playoffs, too.

Romo seems like the anti-Tebow. Romo teams find ways to lose. And weird ways, too. Imagine the kicker being iced two weeks in a row and making the first kick that didn’t count and then missing the second one. So weird, especially when your own coach ices you. (That’s still good for a chuckle.)

I have traditionally been a Romo supporter but I have to say, he had Miles Austin wide open at the end there for the winning TD and he overthrew him by at least 5 yards. You can’t whiff on easy plays like that.

I’d be willing to donate to a fund to convince Gruden to coach again, just to get him out of the announcing booth!

Since I don’t watch the games live, you get 24 hour delayed commentary from me, sorry.

This felt exactly like 8 of the Skins losses this year - hang close, but oh by god, one mistake (typically by Grossman) kills ya.

They don’t give up in games (the Skins) but they consistently play just well enough to lose respectably.

Edit: At least the Skins are finally mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and I can look forward to being 2012 offseason champs again.

I suspect teams will be looking to poach Greg Williams away from New Orleans after this season. I know at least one team talked with him during the off-season. Personally I wouldn’t be that unhappy to see him go.
