Duh, they call it “Thursday Night Football” though.

They started sneaking these Saturday night games in last season, they wait until the college schedule is over and then they have Saturday night games.

Cowboys have looked amazing most of the night, but seem to be on that edge of collapse like they did last week against the Giants. Romo threw three TD passes and ran for another to stake them to a 28-0 lead, since then the Bucs have fought back to make it 31-15.

There have been Saturday games in December for a lot longer than there have been (non-Thanksgiving) Thursday games. I do love how the NFL Network now brands the game Thursday Night Football on Saturday, though. Corporate marketing nonsense at its best.

Yes, I recall there use to be two games on Saturdays in December (usually the Giants one week and the Jets the next) at 12:30 and 4:00. Unfortunately they killed that. I think that a playoff-esqu thing with games at 4 and 8 would be great, too.

The NFL used to allow Saturday wildcard games for the playoffs, not regular season games. Now the NFL Network has regular season games on Thursday and Saturday nights once the D1 college football season is over.

Incorrect. As recently as 2005 they had double header Saturday games, and it continues back to at least 1986. Guess the NFL put the kibosh on that when they started up the NFL Network.

I guess those Saturday games seemed like playoff games, I’m old. Now get off my lawn.

I did not know they took away Saturday games. I stopped watching the NFL, and especially late in the season the previous five years or so. I remember growing up and watching Saturday games. Glad to see them back, except for calling it Thursday Night Football since I just thought it was replay of the Thursday night game.

Nice to see Rex getting off to a good start.

First pass…flea flicker deep for…an INT. At least it was essentially a punt.

And that makes 2 INTs for Rex. Wonder how many he’s going to throw today…it may be a record setting day!

4/7 with 2 INTs LOL.

But at least Eli is 0/6 now. So there is that too…

Snow game in Buffalo!

There’s a close Green Bay game on, so guess what we get to watch in Michigan?

Rams vs Bengals. WTF? Is there anyone outside the city limits of Cincinnati or St. Louis (or even inside those city limits) who gives a flying fuck at a rolling donut about this game? It isn’t divisional to us, it isn’t regional to us, why in the hell do we get stuck with it? Is this Michigan’s part of Suh’s punishment?

Looks like tensions are running a bit high.

Man, I actually wish I weren’t watching it. The Packers defense is making Kyle Orton look like Aaron Rodgers, and the Packers offense is making Aaron Rodgers look like Tim Tebow.

The Giant’s defense is just dreadful.

I did find it amusing when watching one of the pre-game shows that after they discussed (again) whether the Packers should really go for an undefeated season the host concluded the discussion by saying they would surely revisit the top in future. And I thought, what if the Packers lose today? Not that I think it will happen, but its like nobody even thinks upsets are possible.

That said, its too early to get worked up over any of these scores. Unless you are a Texans fan.

I really hope Johnny Knox is ok after that injury. It looked horrific.

Saints just missed an onside kick, barely, ahead 14-6 in the second quarter. Saints have fumbled twice.

Now the Giants just need to whiff the kickoff.

The Saints just went for an onside kick with 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, up 14-6. Sometimes I think Sean Payton just likes to practice these types of rare plays during regular games, like the fake field goal in the Giants game.

This Packer game is insane. The Chiefs are absolutely dominating, completely blowing the Packers away in every aspect of the game. And the score is 6-0, after Kansas City just failed on a 4th-and-inches at the 2.

If you can get blown out for basically an entire half and only be down six points, I guess there are worse things.
