Jason Sudeikis has spoken.
I’m feeling good about the Patriots finally winning a playoff game next week.

In fairness, the Steelers did only give up a field goal in the second half. That last play was blown, though. You’d think after all the deep balls Tebow’s thrown they wouldn’t just stack the line.
I can’t wait to see all the espn talking heads who had gone back to the ‘Tebow can’t throw, he is the worst qb ever’ over the last 3 weeks now that he threw for over 300 yards in a playoff game. There will be heads exploding I think, which will be amusing.

For the game, Tebow averaged 31 yards per completion.

That was positively hilarious.
I was actually on the phone with my dad in NYC trying to explain the new OT rules, and in the time it took to explain how Pittsburgh would get the ball once if Denver kicked a FG, they’d already scored the winning TD. Crazy.

Yeah, and last week, we were all feeling really good about the Steelers chances too.
Tebow actually looked like a decent QB for once. It helps that the Steelers had to use so much personnel to guard the run options, but that’s the effect his skill set has on the game. For once, it wasn’t Tebow’s fault that this turned into such a close game. I can get behind Tebow and Denver’s style of football if this is the kind of game we’ll see in the future.

That is true Sarkus, but where was the defense in the first half?? The Steelers scored 23 points. They average giving up 14 points. What happened? If their defense was in the middle of the pack, then OK 23 points is probably not enough, but a QB who averages a 46% pass completion rate coming into this game should not have been able to beat a #1 defense. I don’t think the Steelers took them seriously.

Well, I don’t know how much of Denver scoring 3 points in the 2nd half was the Steeler D, and how much of that was just typical Foxball when playing with a lead.
Last week the Panthers had the Saints on their 45, with 15 seconds left in the 1st half and no timeouts, so the obvious thing to do is not let them beat you deep. Drew Brees hit Colston for a 45 yard TD, which should never happen. I thought that was going to be the worst defensive play I saw this season. I was wrong - the Steelers one-upped that one with that OT debacle.
Tebow looked better, but still a far, far cry from great. He missed on a lot of opportunities. The Steelers were doing nothing in pass defense and Denver’s lead could have been bigger. Mechanics and accuracy aside though, Tebow’s got more than enough stones to beat any team.
I told my dad if Denver beat the Steelers in the playoffs I’d buy a Tebow jersey.
Shit.
(P.S. Go Ravens)

Yea, the ESPN guys are hilarious, as they go on and on after this game about how Tebow’s game is such a threat to defenses and is so hard to prepare for, etc, etc. They really couldn’t care less what they said the previous week (day even).
He went and motherfucking told it on the mountain.
You don’t have to be a great passer if you have so many run options available. Tebow has been a poor passer all season up to now, but today I would rate his passing game “good”. Tebow is never going to be a “great” QB by modern standards (which basically means a great passing QB like Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers), but I’m starting to believe that he has the ability to be a successful QB by using his legs and brains to cover his shortcomings.

This is very, very hard for me to say, but…
I Tebelieeeeeeeve!
My wife is a Tebow fan so at least one of us is happy.
In all fairness though Tebow looks to have improved his passing quite a bit. He’s only off-target half the time now, and he can throw a long ball reasonably accurately.
Edit: He reminds me a little of Doug Flutie, in a way. Maybe he can have a breakfast cereal named after him someday.

Tebow still has a long way to go, but after today he deservedly will be the Broncos starter next season.
Say what you will about John Fox as a coach, but the guy does seem to know how to coach playoff games. His teams are 6-3 all time now in playoff games and in 3 of the 4 playoff seasons he’s had, he’s won at least one game.

I’m laughing so hard at this right now… I mean, who knew, right?
