Stafford injured in record time!

What’s the news on Steven Jackson, anyway?

Justin Tuck will be inactive for the Giants today. Ugh. Thankfully they’re playing the Rex Grossman led Redskins.

Well, now the Chiefs are as out as you can be.

Pulled hamstring, he’s sitting out the rest of the game so it doesn’t get worse. Cadillac Williams has been doing decently in his absence.

Cramps != injury.

Is Dalton or Gradkowski playing for the Bengals? It says Dalton in the stats field but Gradkowski on the Drive Chart on NFL Game Center.

It’s Gradowski.

Seven turnovers for the Steelers? Wow.

Lots of turnovers and blowouts this afternoon; maybe a consequence of the shortened off season?

Looks like Dalton went off for some reason, Bengals made a comeback with Gradkowski, 20-17 with 4.28 to go.

Unlikely but true stat of the day: Kerry Collins passed Joe Montana on the all-time passing yardage list today.

So far, slight quadriceps pull. He’s walking without a limp, but it’s tightening up on him.

Otherwise, the second half, ugh. I’d call the first half with a slight edge to Philly, but the second half has been all Philly. And the Rams out with injuries are a list of their best players – Jackson, Bradford, Mikell, Amendola, Smith, and Bartell. It’s insane, though both Jackson and Bradford look like minor injuries, thankfully.

And a tip of the hat to Vick. I’ve never seen another QB like him. Not saying he’s in Manning’s league – not close, really – but he’s such a threat with his legs and really a scary threat with his arm too. I can see how he’s a huge headache for defenses.

The most disappointing thing about the game to me besides the loss was the number of drops by the Rams receivers. At least five or six.

San Diego Chargers, are you shitting me?

After all the special teams disasters you suffered last year, you give up a 103 yard return TD on THE OPENING KICKOFF?

Edit: And McNabb gives the ball back to the Chargers inside his own 5. They should replace the announcers for this game with circus music.

This Seahawks/49ers game is exciting. Not. A couple of bad looking offenses so far.

I’m surprised how many blowouts there were in the early games. Only two of the eight games ended up closer then 10 points.

Are the Bills for real this year, or does KC just suck?

It’s not the Bills.

Man, curb-stomping the Colts makes for a great opening week. That’s only the third time the Texans have beaten the Colts in the last ten years!

In other news, I punched my ticket today for a bus trip down to Gillette Stadium to see the Pats take on the Giants in November. It was a little more expensive than I wanted, but since I get admission to the game and round-trip transportation between here and Foxboro (plus no parking headaches) and an all-you-can-eat barbecue before the game, it’s not such a bad deal.

Gillette Stadium’s about 239 miles from here, and I get approximately 20 miles per gallon, so that’s about 24 gallons of gas, round-trip. Multiply that by $3.63 per gallon, which is the going rate around here, and gas alone would eat up almost a third of the cost of the trip.

Now I just have to decide which jersey to wear. And maybe rent a better zoom lens.

I’d go with the Justin Tuck jersey. :-p

I imagine THE HALEY will be preparing for a ritual sacrifice (possibly of Jamaal Charles) tomorrow at practice. I’m not sure anyone saw that score coming this morning.

Also: in a fantasy league I’m in, I own both Kenny Britt and Cam Newton. They’re both on the bench this week sadtrombone
