THE NFL 2017 Season

So far, so bad.

Having Tom Brady on my fantasy team is making me a bad person. I feel good, but also so bad.

He doesn’t have an NFL arm. I saw plenty of Keenum over the last couple of years. He’s not terrible, but he doesn’t really give you a lot.

Funny thing is his arm is probably as good as another Viking QB, Tarkenton, but the game is so different now. You have to be able to throw into those tight windows and if you can’t, it takes away a lot of your playbook.

Bradford…just another one of those injury-cursed players.

Luckily I don’t actually bet on sports.

Hilarious:

“Sam is fine. He might play one game from now, he might play six weeks from now. Either way, he’s fine.” -Mike Zimmer on Bradford’s status.

Hey, we might win the next few games or lose the next few games. Either way we’re fine! There’s too much emphasis placed on winning. No matter what happens, we’re fine.

Well the Skins and Panthers both won but my fantasy team lost. You have to take the good with the bad.

Also the Broncos and Falcons both looked good yesterday. Still both power teams it looks like.

Looks like my fantasy team loses this week. I’m actually ahead, but that’s just a formality until after tonight’s game, for which I have no one selected, but my fantasy opponent has a DB. I guess his pick could get in an accident on the way to the stadium.

It’s been a while since I played in a league where we had to fill out all defensive positions versus just a team defense. But I can say that a team defense CAN get a negative score for a game. I’ve done that, unfortunately.

Random question: Does anyone have NFL Sunday ticket? If so can you tell me if it is automatically renewed each season and if there is a way to prevent that?

I got Sunday Ticket as the standard promotion they offer for new DTV customers. I believe it does auto renew unless I call at the end of the season to cancel…where I expect I will then be transferred to retention specialists who will offer me a discounted rate to stay. At least that’s what AT&T/DTV did when I went to turn off all the movie channels at the end of the three month intro period.

Tell me about it. Every player on my opponent’s team showed up to play. Meanwhile I have Jordi Nelson and Greg Olsen, both of whom get injured at the beginnings of their games so I get a grand total of one point from them. And then Zeke Elliott hits the Denver wall. Welp, so much for this week. Let’s see how I do on waivers.

Sorry to hear that, Bernie. From the talk this week already it sounds like Gred is going on IR and done for the season? The initial guess was 6-8 weeks, but Greg is a major player and I don’t expect they will rush him back. I mean, I’m hopeful, but that kills a fantasy pick pretty much.

I too have Zeke and was sad to see he didn’t amount to much.

It’s just one game…Zeke was good in week one and I’m sure he’ll play well in other contests. This was one of those things where the Cowboys got into a hole early and Denver’s D was too much to overcome.

But I get a kick out of all these people that strategize over fantasy football. Days like the one I had yesterday show me that the game is 95% luck.

Welcome to the club! I had the top-rated draft in my league and have been a heavy favorite both weeks according to the projected points. Both weeks have been massive losses as my guys fail miserably and my opponents’ outperform all expectation, and I’m just barely ahead of last place in points total. There’s always next year…

Fantasy team was unbeaten last year against all odds and injuries. Thanks to Mr. Rogers and J.A. in Miami, mostly.

I retired after that. :) No more. After I went unbeaten from week 1 through the title game I decided it would suck to start again this year and lose.

Leave on a high note, etc etc.

But what if you were meant to win EVERY season??

Pfffht, good one.

You are all amateurs. I am in a now 7 year strong keeper league with rookie drafts. 12 teams, 26 man rosters.

We are fighting for SCRAPS. I am starting Jonathan Stewart as my RB1.

You don’t know what it is like man…

Super rewarding to draft a guy you get to keep for like 5 years though.

I don’t think I could go back to a redraft.
